Fostair inhaler
Had my asthma review at my GP surgery today and apparently my asthma is poorly controlled which I knew anyway so she wants to consider changing my steroid inhaler to Fostair. I'm already on Flutiform 250/10 as well as Spiriva which I know isn't a steroid. What's the difference between the two and is

CLL in treatment and possible long Covid and managing isolation
My 74 year old husband has CLL and is on treatment consisting of Obinutuzumab infusions (just completed) and Venetoclax. He got Covid for the second time in January 2023, took Paxlovid, and it resolved without too much complication. He then had the "Paxlovid rebound." He recovered from that pretty well

Raw/sore throat & Inhalers
Hi All, I've had asthma for the past 45 yeats and used inhalers both brown and blue for 43yrs. In the last 6yrs I've been suffering with an irritated throat with a lot of white patches and the odd red spot or thread like lines on the roof of my mouth and back of my throat. I also suffer from tinnitus

When to take emergency pack?
Started with a very sore throat, bad head 12 days ago. Soon turned into a streaming cold. Negative Covid test. For the past 5 days my breathing has been poor, chesty cough, wheezing etc. I've been taking extra blue inhaler and upped my steroid inhaler. Feel awful, lightheaded and breathless. Last night

Steroid Inhalers and Thyroid levels
I am undergoing tests for breathlessness. Consultant suspects it is non allergic late onset asthma. I have been using Fostair 200/6 for about 3 weeks which thankfully has improved symptoms. However a recent thyroid blood test gave a very high reading for T4 levels. Do steroid inhalers affect your

Struggling at times? Me too :)
My firm opinion - firmly based on my own past - is that if you survive Day One, Week one, and are not going contrary to advice from a Doc or someone equally qualified to judge, you can indeed graduate from the programme. And I speak as someone who was trying desperately to breathe through both ends of

What A Birthday I Had !
I don't want to hijack dear cof drop's funny post and so it is time that I tell my friends what has been going on. 4 weeks ago I managed to see a GP. I told her that I had been having pains in my left upper chest and was quite breathless. I felt sure that it was not an exacerbation of bronch. She laughed

Lingering dry cough
My 5 year old has asthma and is on preventative inhalers. He's recently had a flare, triggered by a virus. The cough got worse and has eased, however, it is lingering, we are on week 2 now. When he runs, dances etc he coughs and if he moves from inside to outside. Any reason why? Or tips to help it go

3 years trouble breathing, still no diagnosis, always depressed
For the past 3 years i have been trying to get a diagnosis for my breathing issue. It started harmlessly, i had this crackling or bubbling sensation coming from what i thought was my throat. After i realized it wouldnt go away after force coughing i got worried. Long story short, ive had many chest x

Inhaler Recycling
Someone recently raised this issue, but I can’t find the earlier post. A few years ago, our local Boots stopped taking my used Symbicort Turbohalers, which was a shame because they are very complicated and must cost the earth to manufacture. However, I’m now pleased to report that they are now recycling

Hello, I have had asthma for many years, only recently I have found a few things out. I have been using clenil modulite inhaler, but I have periods of being well and periods of feeling ill and have skin issues at same time when unwell. My asthma has now got out of control with many exacerbations,

Glaucoma eye drops and migraines
I am waiting for an appointment at eye hospital because spec savers say my pressure is too high. My eyes appeared healthy from the OTC scan and blood vessels ok. Sight not deteriorating. I suffer badly from migraines and wondered if anyone on the forum uses eye drops that don’t cause headaches or make

Unable to write over the past couple of weeks.
My Asthma started to act up, so I went to the Docs. They updated my modulate brown inhaler to 2 puffs every morning and night. And to use my blue one when needed during the day. I must admit, that it has made a big difference to my breathing. I have to go back and discuss my BP medication with them
