Impromptu Run on a sunny day

After being awake for a couple of hours last night not sure why might be excitement as my little french granddaughter arrived yesterday Izia, 6lbs! She was two weeks early! Hopefully I will get to see her in February as she lives on Reunion Island in the Indian Ocean !

Her mum was my last Au pair for my daughter! She became part of our family more so than the previous ones! We have become part of her family! I digress!

I had to be a pedicure model for one of the trainees at my local salon this morning and with the sun out I thought I would take my new feet for a run! So Run 2 week 7 off round the park run course making sure I put the correct car park code into my app ( 😂).

Setting of at a comfortable pace after my 5 mins warm up walk! Once I am in the zone that’s where I am! I run with bone conductors headphones on so I can listen to Jo but hear what’s going on around me! Lots of walkers on the footpaths enjoying the weather!

I always set markers so I know if I have run further than last time! My legs had been a bit leaden on Monday and I had an asthmatic cough on my last run! Inhalers on board today and Hayfever under control!

This run felt more like my old running self jogging along quite happily! As I said before I set mental markers on my runs! So ran from the park out to the lake round the whole lake watching the geese swans & ducks on the water! Saturday the 25mins ended as I was about to head back through the woods today I was through the woods and over the first two bridges over the river by the time Jo said time to slow down! Only a few hundred metres further but better than nothing!

I jogged and walked back from that point until I was back at my car! So another 5k done ✅ I felt very much like I could have carried on running but being sensible I gave myself a breather! A lot more running and less walking today!

That's awesome, BGood ! And a nice way to celebrate "new feet" - and your new granddaughter. 🥳 I could almost imagine the route you took from your description. It sounds like a very nice scenic path!

It is we are blessed to have the river Medway on our doorstep so many trails and paths by it! Winter can be more tricky if it floods! Yes we did run in that but all runs after we’re cancelled for a month due to the weather conditions! However a bit of park run tourism then happens 😂
