Nerve pain after vats Lobectomy
Hi folks- although I got the all clear for the lung cancer I’ve had a swelling under right breast since1st week(now 4 weeks since surgery). Dr thought at first it was infection or shingles- it’s neither. Looks like nerve pain. It’s holding back my recovery. Anyone any experience of this and any suggestions

Negitive Colonoscopy, Upper Endoscopy and CT Scan! No answers for extream abdominal pain
So frustrated!! Going on three months with extreme abdomen pain and more recently back pain. I do have a little Reflux but that is not my main issue. The cramping and gas are getting to be unbearable. My Gastro told me to eat the Low Fodmap diet and take a probiotic. I have been doing that for 3 months

Swelling after vats upper right Lobectomy
Hi folks Alison again- just over a week ago I had the above procedure and came home last Friday. I followed all instructions given and even managed two short walks outside without breathlessness- however I now have swelling and heat below the breast , next to the incision site. It’s sure to touch and

Hives everywhere
I have the worst case of hives I have ever had. Literally, entire parts of my body (stomach, feet are red, swollen and ITCHY! I went to an allergist and one of the first questions she asked was if I had any autoimmune diseases. Yep. She put me on Zantac and Zyrtec plus Benedryl when needed. What

Lobectomy in3 days
This past year I’ve had a malignant melanoma, breast cancer and now lung cancer- all right side of body and all unconnected. Lung cancer was picked up at a radiotherapy scan by an oncologist who was to plan my radiotherapy. This tumour is 2.7cm and is upper right lobe. I’m to get a right lobe Lobectomy

Game-changers: Tips for Managing Chemo Side Effects
OK, so first off, I'm not a medical professional and everything I'm going to mention has been run by my oncologist. You should always check with your doctor before making any dietary changes or adding an alternative therapy to your routine. Please also note, these are things that have help me out over

Side effects after VATS
Hello everyone, I'm new here and came across the community after googling "side effects after vats". My surgery was in 2015 and I'm very grateful that I didn't need any other treatment. As others in the community, I have had sensitivity in my right side, which I expected, but after 4 years the tightness

Undiagnosed since 10/2018
So I have a pneumothorax October 27, 2018 was released from the hospital November 8, 2018 with not understanding why my lung collapsed. November 22 I had the VATS on my right side and it has happened six more times since then they still don’t know why, I might need another surgery if it keeps interrupting

No biopsy possible
Hi there. I just wondered if there is anyone out there who has not been able to give biopsy tissue because the tumour(s) were either inaccessible or were sitting too near either main blood vessels or other risky areas. I have had two operations to remove two tumours. One operation removed aright lobe

A typical carcinoid net's syndrome etc
After coughing up a lot of phlegm in hospital whilst been treated for a leg ulcer which wouldn't heal. Two very junior doctors still doing their rotation, who I can't thank enough, they took it as a sample and sent me for a chest x ray that showed up 15 plus broken ribs which I had no knowledge of. They

Omeprozole
I’m adding to a recent discussion on Prilosec aka Omeprozole. I spent an entire night walking up and down my stairs and around the house after one dose! I now list it as an “allergy “ on medical records. Instead I use Ranitidine aka Zantac for any GI distress.

Hyperparathyroidcalcimia and LADA
I am need of some help here. I have hyperparathyroidcalcimia and LADA. The thyroid is growing in an odd shape, possibly cancer, and I am having problems with my weight. I have read some of the articles and some of you are taking medications for the thyroid, which I am not and some suggest the Leptin

Wk8 Run1 - repeated and type1 experiments continued...
This morning waking test of 4.8mmols, had usual 5units novo and 15 lantus; then roughly 25g CHO. Next test (after computer work) 13.5mmols - which annoyed me considerably! Hadn’t been intending to run, but decided to do so. Ran very very slowly - but didn’t feel sick or hugely unwell, as I had on the

Cryptococcus
I am a post liver transplant recipient. I got Cryptococcus in February. When oral meds didn't work, I did two months of amphotericin infusions and had VATS surgery to remove three of the eight nodules that were in my lung. I am wondering if anyone else has had this and what is your story with it? Thanks

Wk8 Run1 type1 diabetes...further experiments...
Tricky. Starting bloodsugar: 8.4mmols had 15units of lantus, 1unit novorapid and half a banana. Ran for 28mins slowly and SO unenjoyably that I kept laughing out loud. Just about avoided being sick in a park bin once I’d stopped, and made it home. Am now on the sofa. Blood test: 15mmols. Ah diabetes

Type 1 diabetes...difficulties
I have type 1 diabetes and am struggling with managing insulin/food/exercise. I’ve reached wk 7 run2. This morning I tried running on an empty stomach after my lantus injection but without novo rapid - as advised by diabetic nurse specialist - test beforehand 10.4mmols. Run went ok but during warm down

Am I the only one?
I develop pains when I am under stress and panic - usually my stomach, I get trapped gas under my ribs, I belch, I start to have panic attacks and imagine I have every deadly disease out there. It can be triggered by a pharmecutical commercial. I lost my brother last year and his birthday was 2/2.

Nausea with anxiety
I’ve been taking Zantac to clear the gi problems I’ve been having. It’s helped but I’m still nauseous. What does everyone do for this?

Numbness continues
Hi, I had a VATS three months ago, all pain is gone after 8 weeks as expected. But I still have that feeling of numbness and burning in the side of my chest where surgery was done. Like it is not your body now .. Can anyone advise: is this common? How long it may take to recover and is there something
