I am need of some help here. I have hyperparathyroidcalcimia and LADA. The thyroid is growing in an odd shape, possibly cancer, and I am having problems with my weight. I have read some of the articles and some of you are taking medications for the thyroid, which I am not and some suggest the Leptin diet for weight loss. What is the best thing or medication for both of my medical problems? Any suggestions? I am on Lantus for insulin and am taking D3 and iron for the thyroid. Cannot biopsy the thyroid until I am off of the blood thinner in 6 months.

Hyperparathyroidcalcimia and LADA
If you have primary hyperparathyroidism and it's caused by a benign adenoma the usual treatment is surgery to remove it, if surgery is not possible then there is a medication that controls the parathyroid.
Thanks to bantam12. She has not suggested a drug yet. She was adamant that my heart get taken care of before a biopsy.
Hi B, have they done any tests for your thyroid. Your heart needs thyroid and some abnormalities on an ECG or enlarged ventricles are due to a thyroid deficiency. Are they afraid to treat your thyroid because of the cancer prospect. They should still want to know what is going on with your metabolism.
Hi Heloise, I cannot have a biopsy until I am off the blood thinner in 6 months, which I can do so then. Is there some question I should ask my endo about that you know of as you can see I have to wait, which I don't really want to do. Thanks
Sorry, you haven't given enough information. For instance, why would you need a blood thinner for either of those conditions. And why do you have to worry about your heart? Do you have your test results for everything? If you are hyperthyroid as well, it may be causing your hyperparathyroidism it seems to me. It's just a blood test to find out about your thyroid, TSH, FT4, and FT3 at the least. If they could look at antibodies I am almost sure they would find some.
How motivated would you be to start making some changes? I think you have some autoimmune issues going on and with leaky gut, the immune system starts attacking and it looks like your thyroid and pancreas are the targets. These immune cells are not exactly targeting the glands but the particles attaching to the glands. If you could try a ketogenic diet avoiding gluten and dairy to break some insulin resistance you might even lose weight. There is usually bad bacteria in the gut and unfiltered apple cider vinegar helps with that and eating unprocessed food will stop feeding bad bacteria. I take a couple of teaspoons of the ACV with meals. You can dilute or not dilute but I like vinegar. Proteolytic enzymes like serrapeptase can dissolve scar tissue, cysts, and thick blood. This is not a good idea if you are on blood thinners though.
The problem is that surgeons are usually not going to consider all these things even though they are often a better treatment and safer treatment they just don't get it.
If they knew about how the body reacts to environmental stimulus, they would not rush into meds and surgeries but they don't know any better.
Sorry, for a lack of info, but I had stents put in my heart and therefore the blood thinners. Also, I have to take iron for a deficiency in my colon. They have suggested a colonoscopy, but then again the blood thinners keep it from happening until 6 months have passed which is the protocol for this. My sister has stage 4 colon cancer and it has gone to her liver. She is expected to die soon. What is the time frame before and after a meal to take iron? I do it with the meal as it says and also I take insulin before the meal. Thanks for the info Heloise.
Heloise, what is ACV?
