Just some info....
I know this isn’t a cancer site, but I have fibromyalgia, crohns, cyclic vomiting syndrome (that ones realllly fun!) among many other medical issues one was breast cancer. I’ve recently found out about the class action suit against Zantac for knowingly providing meds with known cancer causing properties

Constant reflux burning
Fed up with constant reflux burning as the title says. I was diagnosed a 1cm hernia in 2016 and I've been lucky that I only get flare ups, but this year is particularly bad. I've managed with zantac last 3 years but know they've been pulled. But my acid came back 3 weeks ago, suddenly too!! I tried omeprazole

Lung lobectomy - waiting for lymph node biopsy and feeling anxious
Hi! My mum was found with a ground glass nodule about a year ago and after many scans went in for a VATS wedge section to remove the nodule in November. The nodule was caused by her rheumatoid arthritis but the surgeon noticed some “ dots” around it and “ specks” on her lung so sent it for a biopsy.

Post-pleurodesis pains?
I had a VATS pleurodesis done on both my lungs 4 years ago when I was 16 (both happened 3 months apart from eachother) after spontaneous pneumothoraxes. Both surgeries went fine and they haven't collapsed since. However, every once and a while (maybe once/twice a month), I'll feel a sharp pain in my

Comfort at last!
I had a vats lobectomy over 18months ago and thankfully all well so far (apart from having treatment for anal cancer this year) but I digress. Wearing a bra is painful because I have a keloid scar from my cats op. After much research and help from doctors to no avail I have found an easy remedy that

Lupron Altarnatives
Can anyone recommend a urologist in eastern US who is currently using
Vantas
implants with Casodex as an alternative to Lupron? I have been unable to find one anywhere near my location. From other posts, it appears that some community members are using this combo with success.

Views on medichecks blood result; variation in crp marker in space of 1 week?
I posted last week re a problem I was having with a blood sample sent to Medichecks. They sent a replacement kit and I now have all of the results which I attach in the photo. I hope it is legible and would welcome members views. I know my vitamin D is too low and have purchased Vitabiotics supplements

FDA withdraws all Ranitidine
The FDA annouced yesterday that all prescription and OTC ranitidine should be withdrawn because of potential NMDA contamination as a degradation product. Don't think about keeping the older stock you have because it reportedly gets worse with age. Ranitidine is the active compound in Zantac.

Is Vantas Part B (and, if so, needs prior authorization?) or Part D?
My urologist is happy to do this, but to save his staff the time I am trying to find out if and how it is covered by Medicare. I find indirect confirmation on the internet it is Part B and needs prior authorization. I called Medicare and they were hopeless. Those who have done it--how does Medicare

Zantac and Prostate Cancer
Many of you know Zantac has been in the news lately due to safety concerns. Has anyone discussed this with law firms which are attempting to develop cases for potential lawsuits against manufacturers and whoever else might be a target? I have had a brief discussion with one such firm. I don’t know

MONOTHERAPY FOR NEWLY DIAGNOSED PROSTATE CANCER
As of Dec 18, 2019, LHRH agonists available in the US include: Leuprolide (Lupron, Eligard), Goserelin (Zoladex), Histrelin (
Vantas
) and Triptorelin (Trelstar). An LHRH agonist keeps testicles from making T by blocking other hormones needed to make it.

FDA investigating Metformin for Carcinogens
The investigation by the FDA of Metformin (probably the most investigated drug of all time given its long history for use with Type 2 diabetes) for the carcinogen NMDA is of some concern given the plethora of generic manufacturers of this drug, especially from India and China. NDMA or NMN is usually
