I had a VATS pleurodesis done on both my lungs 4 years ago when I was 16 (both happened 3 months apart from eachother) after spontaneous pneumothoraxes. Both surgeries went fine and they haven't collapsed since. However, every once and a while (maybe once/twice a month), I'll feel a sharp pain in my right lung that hurts when I move/twist, etc, that doesnt go away unless I lie down for a bit. On 2 occasions, (1 and 2 years ago) it was so bad and lasted so long (overnight) that I went to the hospital where they told me my lung wasn't collapsed after xrays were taken.
I was just wondering if anyone else had experienced this, and if so how they got it fixed? Thanks.

Hi piptum, I had plurodesis on my right lung in February I havnt had a collapsed lung but I still get a sharp sting on a deep breath in but if I deep breath again it's not there and have been wondering if this goes away or not, hope your OK xx
I had a Pleurodesis 4 years ago and continue to occasionally have the sharp pain. It especially occurs when going to higher altitudes. It might be from stretching the tissue. I have not had any problems as a result. I have not tried a higher altitude than 4000 ft and have not done any air travel. I am wondering if anyone else has had experience with air travel or higher altitudes and will post thise questions.
