VATS
Hi Lovely Ladies I’ve posted a couple of times in the last few months regarding my probable recurrence. It’s been a year since a CT scan picked up 3 enlarged lymph nodes in my diaphragm and chest areas. At Xmas a second PET scan showed an increase in velocity to medium high and my oncologist discussed

Intercostal pain from VATS surgery help
3 yrs ago, I was diagnosed with lung cancer. It turned out to be a blood clot had cut off blood supply to part of my lung which developed a severe infection. I had VATS surgery. To remove part of my lung. After the VATS, I have a super sensitive intercostal area. Quite painful to the touch and feels

Ranitidine linked to Barrett’s Oesophegus?
Since being prescribed with Ranitidine for reflux problems 4 years ago, I have developed Barrett’s Oesophegus. I see that the US have now banned Zantac (the US equivalent) because it is feared to be carcinogenic. Has anyone else developed the same condition as me, and also suspects that Ranitidine

Post Vats lobectomy
Hi just wondering if anybody had a similar experience- I had my surgery almost 3 weeks ago and am recovering well. I had 3 incisions of which one had 3 stitches and has healed well. The one where my drain was had only 1 stitch which was removed along with the drain the next day and this one is not knitting

Surgery this week
I met my consultant this week and he has booked me in for a VATS lobectomy on Thursday. Shocked at the speed this has all happened but extremely grateful. Naturally feeling anxious and worried about pain post surgery. Can anybody give me the benefit of their similar experience. It helps so much speaking

thoracoscopic lung biopsy (VATS)
Anyone out there have experience with VATs? Just curious how the procedure went and how recovery went. I have read that it's pretty safe and minimally invasive, but I'd love to hear your experience. How long it took, how long was your recovery, did you have any issues afterwards, etc.

Shoulder and arm pain
I have stage 4 lung cancer on immunotherapy Pembrolizamab for a year. Last few weeks been getting severe shoulder/arm pain right arm - had vats lobe to my on same side over a year ago, doctors say it is 'probably' muscular and not related to my tumour. Severe pain and I feel unheard and unsupported.

Advice Pls! VATS vs. Open Thoracotomy (7cm 77 y.o.)? SoC vs. Clinical Trial?
My 77 y.o. father has been recently diagnosed with stage IIb (T3N0M0) with no visible mets to LN or brain. However, the tumor is large, nearly 7 cm. (We will hopefully receive tumor marker info by Monday but Drs. suspect he's EGFR+ given that he's a non-smoker, Asian and the "look" of the tumor w/CT.

Standard of Care surgery for 7cm tumor??
My father has a 7 cm LLL tumor and, currently, there are no visible mets to lymph nodes or brain. We are curious if an open surgery would be standard of care? Or something less invasive like the VATS approach or robotically? We are considering a second opinion. Would be grateful for your feedback
