Zantac and Prostate Cancer

Many of you know Zantac has been in the news lately due to safety concerns.

Has anyone discussed this with law firms which are attempting to develop cases for potential lawsuits against manufacturers and whoever else might be a target?

I have had a brief discussion with one such firm. I don’t know much about this, however prostate cancer has been placed on the listing of cancers impacted Zantac.

Do you have any information you can share with our group?

I have much to learn about this topic. This was perhaps a poor word choice by me. As of this moment I believe the lawyers are going to attempt to prove that Zantac use caused my (and others) Prostate Cancer.

If I go forward with this I’ll learn what they mean.

Twoofus,

It seems interesting. There is reaserch which showed that Cimetidine (Tagamet) slows the progression of PCa as it works like mild ADT.

Now, Zantac is Ranitidine which is in the same class as Cimetidine. The possible explanation can be that there was some other ingrediant mixed with Zantac which might have worked as Carcinogen. Zantac by itself is NOT carcinogen.

It is related to NDMA exposure. It seems that Zantac was contaminated with NDMA. Prostate cancer is not included in the list of cancers that they are going to litigate according to this web page:

At least I one large law firm is building a class action against the pharmaceutical company. The big year for Zantac use was 1984. I was a user but I did not qualify because I am over 54. You can pull them up on the internet by searching Zantac Class Action.

Bleep happens. Prostate cancer happens. Not a justification to hire a lawyer to extort money from a pharmaceutical company. This kind of stuff just raises medical costs for everyone. BTW, I did take zantac / ranitidine for a while for GERD / acid reflux. I'm not joining any class action lawsuit.

Not what you're looking for?
