Should be Sceptical with OCA?
She said
Urso
is relatively safer because it's in use since about 20 years or so. But Oca is new she said....who knows may be it can cause serious consequences like cancer etc. And I started reading around, searching whatever I can find.

Hello I'm new! Bit confused about ALP and imaging options..
Started
Urso
in 2012 when LFT's were slightly raised, but year or so later they became pretty normal. I struggle with fatigue, which ends my day at about 5pm, when I have to rest in bed. Mornings are okay. I have itching but it's difficult to distinguish from another A/I condition.

PBC with overlapping autoimmune diseases
Still on steroids ( since August) plan is to wean steroids and start on more potent immunosuppressive agent along with
URSO
. Interestingly my alk phos was found to elevated only one time in August and since then my LFTs have been normal . Any thought or anyone with a similar story

Urso results
Hi, I've been taking
urso
now for three weeks and had my first blood test today. All my lft results were cut in half, but still not normal. I thought this was quite positive, but was told not to get my hopes up and the real test would be at 3 months. So now I wait.

New Year, Same Message
And if you do have PBC, as many on the site have noted, you will likely still lead a normal life, particularly if it is detected early and treated with
Urso
. I hope that many of you find this information helpful.

Urso and grapefruit
Hi I was prescribed
Urso
yesterday, can I still eat grapefruit? Also the consultant told me now I have 1 autoimmune disease they will check for more, and I'm having a bone scan in 6 weeks, is this usual? What are they looking for? And is diet important, do you 'do's and don't s on some foods?

Spanish Urso
We have moved to Spain and my farmacia is not sure about getting Ursofalk. Is there anyone on here, who lives in Spain, has PBC and can tell me what brand I should be buying and how much it costs please.

Biopsy results back...
In fact, she was so sure I have it, she put me on
URSO
for 3 weeks over a month ago, but I got soooo sick on it AND it made my Liver enzymes skyrocket so she took me off until my biopsy came back. That was today. The Liver specialist is having me follow back up with her, my GI.

Diet
(
Urso
, C&D vits and continue on Sertraline which has been found in some cases to help the itch). I started the day with a fresh fruit, dried raisins , honey, cinnamon coconut milk smoothie . Then decaf tea and cocomilk. You get used to it then it's fine. So far so good.

Normal LFT after Urso for One Month
Hi all Had my first blood tests after starting
urso
and all now within normal range! Can't believe it. Only ALP ever been raised was 135/130 and then 157/130 now 103/130. So happy with results, is that normal? Does it mean it's working?

I am new here. Diagnosed with PBC in 2002 maybe starting Ocaliva soon.
After my most recent check up with my specialist she felt that the
urso
is no longer working. She told me about a new medication called Ocaliva. I was wondering if anyone is taking this with some details. They say this could stop my itching and lower my numbers.

New member advice needed
Started on
Urso
and my blood results are now still raised but much improved. I have two children ages 15 and 12 and I stopped my career as a nurse to be a full time mum. My child has mild autism and dyslexia and I felt it best to stay at home.

New member advice needed
Started
Urso
and my blood tests are improving. I wanted to ask, does anyone notice that they get pain over the liver during times of stress. I don't usually get pain and had never made the connection until now. A stressful time a few months back and I ended up having a scan due to the pain.

PBC & Statins
I was just wondering if anyone takes statins as well as
Urso
. I stopped taking my statins once I was diagnosed and put on
Urso
. I have read that statins aren't good if you have liver disease. What are your thoughts and what where you told by GP and/or Consultant
