Normal LFT after Urso for One Month

Hi all

Had my first blood tests after starting urso and all now within normal range! Can't believe it. Only ALP ever been raised was 135/130 and then 157/130 now 103/130. So happy with results, is that normal? Does it mean it's working?

Hello Chazzy.

Good going! Looking at your bloods you mentioned, they look good going on the urso. Mine were a lot higher when I was diagnosed with PBC in December (6yrs diagnosed in 2 days) and though they fell dramatically on my first blood checks 2mths after starting urso. Mine did continue to drop over the first couple years but mine haven't gone back to normal. As long as they aren't climbing dramatically I go with how I feel. For me I don't think I've developed any further symptons and the one thing the itch did drop in intensity and it's nothing like it was in the early days so the urso has aided me there.

Looks like you are in the very early stages of PBC and with the urso looking good, you might never start to rise as some with PBC do manage to get normal return of their LFTs after diagnosis.

I find reading about others experiences with PBC and the fact that some do exceptionally well after diagnosis does hold out a lot of hope for us all.

Keep looking after yourself and crack on with life, I do regardless.

Thank you! Given me lots of hope. Felt quite ill on it for a week or so and glad I got through it and appears to be working! All early days and so new to me.

i really responded well to URSO so yes it can be normal :) My numbers still stayed in the HI range even though they came down. But my specialist was happy with the results.

I'm super happy to hear you're responding so well! :)
