Urso and Iron
I take 500mg
urso
and a couple of iron tablets before I go to bed at night but the next day I suffer from terrible diarrhoea and stomach pain straight after breakfast. This has gone on for about 3 years and although I've mentioned it to gp nothing has been done or suggested.

Advice
Non responder to
urso
, have tried OCA but temporarily stopped due to intense itch. Since starting OCA I have had regular visits to liver nurse specialist. She tells me I now don’t need appointments with consultant as she can monitor me. Is this the norm.

MRE (Magnetic Resonance Elastography) "My Results" So much for trusting Biopsy and Ultrasound. Also... High ferritin may skew MRE score.
I still have to discuss this with my hepatologist, but, I'd say I'm a non-responder to
URSO
. We will see where I go from here. Especially since my ferritin level is so high too. 😞 Maybe OCA? I'm not sure what other choice I have. ALSO... That 3.14 kPa isn't accurate.

High ALP and itching
After a year on
Urso
my ALP is still in the mid-500's (down from mid 700"s). Wondering if the occasional really itchy day is related to the high ALP level? I take 3 prescription meds. for the itch and it is better than a year ago.

Feeling frustrated and despondent LFTs rising
I went to a herbalist friend who made up a herbal tincture especially for the PBC and I took my
URSO
. Gradually my LFTs came down and by January 2017 all were normal except for the GGT which had come down from 247 to 49 (just slightly above normal).

Newly diagnosed - Urso & side effects.
However, I have a question - re
Urso
and side effects! I only started the
Urso
on Saturday (1 500mg twice a day for the first 3 months) so I'm only on day 3, but woke up this morning with the most random back pain.

Mayo clinic
I take
Urso
regularly and see gastro once a year. My results are not normal but it’s only slightly high. I was wondering if Mayo Clinic’s diagnosis be any different from already diagnosed PBC. Many people told me that I should get myself checked up again with them.

High Platelet count
I checked and there were 40 blood tests done this morning.....I was only worried about ALP (was still over 500 after almost 9 months of
Urso
). Looking for experience with HIGH platelet count. I know my spleen is enlarged (slightly) and have had one swollen lymph node for almost a month.

Pbc trigger and possible treatment
Urso
is only slowing the progression. We need to stop the progression The liver is the only organ that can regenerate itself. If we could stop the agression of the nkt, i think that is the answer

Alt phas creeping up
So I guess the
Urso
is doing its job at slowing down the process of the disease. Dr. Didn’t seem concerned about the raise in labs. He said we would repeat labs in three months.

Itching in hands and feet only - anyone else have this?
I am on
urso
, my liver seems to be doing really well and I'm generally reasonably healhy except for the itching I have been struggling with for the last 3-4 years.

I'm venting...... 🙁
I've been on
URSO
for 2 years. It's never brought my alk-phos to normal. That's the only lft that's been elavated. Recently my liver enzymes have been climbing. Ast, alt, and alk-phos. My doctors are like "Eh... Let's watch them." Like it's a sporting event.

Acupuncture and Naturopathy
Have been on
URSO
since. As of today I am an
URSO
responder and I am asymptomatic. I have been doing a lot of research on trying to heal the body and reduce inflammation. In hopes of "reversing the disease". I recently met with a naturopathy doctor. After all her testing.
