Continued debate on iodine testing
Further to my post 18 days ago https://healthunlocked.com/thyroiduk/posts/148900989/serum-iodine-test-uk, Ive now received some information which may reopen the debate on which test is appropriate. As I indicated in my earlier post, Genova indicated that a serum test may be better (than the urine test

As hunter had said to let you know. ....
Well I eventually got my discharge letter from our haematology department. It stated my bloods were high for a long time most likely infection and he would be happy to see me again if I developed any other symptoms or my platelets went above 650. (Not the 450 stated on the WHO for et). In December

Anyone know where a copy of this particular IC diet is online?
This Interstitial Cystitis diet is the only thing that saves me from suffering. I wish it was given to me years ago before all the unnecessary pain/bleeding/drs visits/investigations/blood & urine tests/useless physio exercises/hospital Emergency Department visits/Cystoscopies, and stupid procedures

Serum iodine test, UK
Has anyone in the UK had a serum iodine test and can recommend a postal test supplier? I had one 6y ago done by Doctors Lab via Blue Horizon but there is some doubt if it can be done via post (I await confirmation but seek options anyhow). I live well away from London where I believe it could be done

URI and thyroid -fighting infection
Hi - I have had the misfortune of some how getting a UTI . I have had this for 3 weeks now. The first urine sample given at my surgery indicated some infection and 3 days prescription of antibiotics given - I have under-active thyroid so I knew this was not enough.. after the 3 days the UTI returned

Problems in diagnosing.
So I am literally feeling at the end of my tether now. For many years I have had various symptoms. A lot of them started after being on the contraceptive injection which beforehand I was a very active healthy person, now I feel completely the opposite. I gained around 4 Stone whilst on the injection

Strange abdomen pains since July
Iβve become so preoccupied about these pains as they are pretty much constant, happening every few minutes. The pains arenβt crippling, more like little uncomfortable twinges in my stomach area. They can also be in one area of and then the next minute it can be on a totally different side. I also have

Not PMR, Its Fibromyalgia.
Been to see a rheumatologist for the first time. Following loads of questions, xrays, bloods and urine tests, and painful prodding and poking, discovered its Fibromyalgia and not PMR. Pretty confused as steroids have had some positive effects although not totally. Coming off the steroids will be good

I just wanted to write a quick timeline of my experience for anyone with a similar case. I couldn't find anything when I was looking for comfort over the past year. I first fell ill in June 2021, serious abdominal pain, it almost mimicked appendicitis. Strong pain in my lower abdomen and pain down my
