Hello,

I am 47 yo diabetic male. Today I received my bloodwork and spot urine test results. Among the others, main Results are following

GFR 78

Creatinine 1.12

Acid Uric 8.27

Urea 26.48

Spot urine test looks ok and there is no proteine. But I dont have microalbuminuria, microalbuminuria/creatinine urine ratio and BUN tests.

But in my previous bloodwork one month ago I had the following values :

Creatinine 1.05

Acid Uric 7.95

This change is big for one month? This is my question

This month I increased my daily steps from 6.000/day to 12.000/day and I intentionally cut eating. I lost 4 kgs. This could be the reason for this rise?

My appointment with doc is next week.

Thanks

Hope your Doctor visit goes fine. It is good you are watching your blood work results.

You are well within the normal range for your Creatinine. The generally accepted range is .9 to 1.13. Creatinine will absolutely change from test to test. Because it is influenced by so many things (what you ate before the test, your exercise level, medications, dehydration the day and night before the test, etc., etc.). You are normal. Stop worrying.

Your uric acid is a bit above normal. People with diabetes easily have an above average uric acid level. As does being overweight and drinking excessive alcohol.

You can reduce elevated uric acid by losing weight, avoiding alcohol, controlling blood sugar. Recommended is have a banana daily, and drink coffee (it reduces acid levels).
