Gabapentin success
I've had RLS for over 35 years getting worse as I get older. I'm now 74. I did well on mirapexin 0.09mgs for years. Then it made my RLS worse and it moved to my arms . I came off it with the help of tramadol 50mgs. I started alternating mirapexin and tram ,it wasn't perfect but better than nothing, Then

Quick pre-MRI constipation question!!!
OK so finally getting an MRI this week to check for adeno/endo, should get a date for my lap after 🤞, my question is about preparing for the MRI...I take codeine for pelvic pain which makes me constipated, they say don't eat for 4 hours before mri and they may need to give you meds to still the bowel

Doctor reinstated infusions every 4 weeks instead of 8
I recently commented that my rheumatologist said I’m in remission. After 6 weeks of my last infusion. I started to get dull headaches and ear pain. I waited the 8 weeks and my ESR had risen but was still in normal range. He still said I’m in remission because of the bloodwork. I got an Actemra infusion

is this a sign my meds are struggling or just how it is now?
Sorry for the long message but would appreciate knowing if this is typical or if I am being a little dramatic and unrealistic. diagnosed with RA nearly 2 years ago. Took a while but pretty much back to normal after moving to injecting 20mg MTX, 200g hydroxy and folic acid 6 days a week. Took just over

Pleurisy
I have been taking antibiotics and codeine for a painful flare up on my left side. Hospital said pleurisy inflammation. The last few days some painful itchy spots have appeared on the left shoulder blade area that are raised red and uncomfortable, unsure if medication penicillin /codeine rash or dermatitis

RLS - tapering off Pramipexole & using codeine
Hi all, firstly am so grateful I found this forum. I have learnt so much and feeling hopeful so thanks for all the insights and advice. After reading about all the warnings of augmentation and seeing the reduced effectiveness of pramipexole after taking it for 10+ years, I am now coming off it. Down

Hi Everyone!
Well, I've been on quite a journey. To say the least. I've had MS for22 years and I stopped all treatments back in 2018. I've had 17 years of injections. I still ended up in a wheelchair while on them. This July I was dx with Cancer of the mouth. It started with white patches. I had ALOT of Dr, PA, nurses

Hi 👋 I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2021........I have been convinced that maybe it isn't fibo, but speaking to a top doctor (whilst in hospital for an unrelated matter) he asked why I'd came to this conclusion.........I said because although I'm in pain when I do not take my codeine I'm not

Success (I hope) with Gabapentin
I have had RLS for more years than I can remember. For years I took mirapexin till I augmented. I tried Pregabalin but I felt dizzy all the time and I put on a lot of weight quickly. I started tramadol and then alternated between that and mirapexin ( yes I went back on it). I coped like this for a long

Poor communication or misunderstanding?
So... I saw my NHS Consultant on Monday about my leg pain and inability to walk when flaring and we discussed my surgery etc and I left the appointment feeling pretty deflated. Long story short she's told me I have to go on the progesterone only pill while I wait for my 1st Lap (hopefully less than 6

COVID vaccine side effects
I have been on 11 1/2 mg of Prednisone and have been holding my own. Last Thursday I had my 7 th Moderna COVID booster. Since then I have been in terrible pain all over my body. When I take a Tylenol it does help ( which is not usually the case for me, normally). I really do not like taking Tylenol

Should I apply sick day rules following a foot operation?
I had an operation yesterday to remove osteophyte ring from around my big toe. I’m home now and it’s very painful despite taking the codeine 30mg they prescribed. My PMR is no different and I’m on 6mg prednisolone but am I supposed to apply sick day rules or do I only do that if PMR gets worse?

Hello - any suggestions ?
I'm Madeline, I have stage 3 endometriosis with history of endometriomas on my ovaries. I was diagnosed formally in 2023 with MRI and laparoscopy. After removal of a moderate cyst and 6 months on Prostap 3 i'm trying to make informed decisions about how best to manage my endometriosis. I have had experiences

Stress - I ignored the obvious ...
I should know this by now after nearly 4 years of PMR. I am normally reasonably OK at dealing with stress, but there is a limit. Now I know all too well that PMR flares are indeed one of the ugly lovechilds of major stress. I am 68 but still working. One of my sidelines suffered terribly in Covid

Oxycodone - the way forward or a dead end?
I have only posted here briefly once but I have been following this great forum for some time. My story is very familiar. Have had RLS for 14 years, was prescribed all the available RLS medication: Ropinirole, Pramipexole (both miraculous at the beginning) Neupro patch ( never tolerated it), Gabapentin

Urgently seeking pain management tips
Hi everyone! I was so glad to see 2023 come to an end, but unfortunately, my transition into the new year has not been much better. I think I’ll make a couple of separate posts, so this does not become convoluted, but my most immediate need is finding some resolution for the increasing pain I am
