COVID vaccine side effects

I have been on 11 1/2 mg of Prednisone and have been holding my own. Last Thursday I had my 7 th Moderna COVID booster. Since then I have been in terrible pain all over my body. When I take a Tylenol it does help ( which is not usually the case for me, normally). I really do not like taking Tylenol so many days.

Has anyone else experienced this?

Thank you for you all for always being here. How lucky are we!

Quite a few I think and I’ve always taken paracetamol (as it’s called in UK - but same as Tylenol) following any vaccine.. before , during and after GCA/Pred.

Advised by practice nurse many moons ago…

.. and a few days is probably all you need…

You are correct. And yesterday ( about 5 days after) I do feel better. Thanks

A few days every day is fine - how much are you taking per day?

I know I should not take more than 4000 mg. I took 3000.

At our age 3000mg is the recommended maximum.

The Pfizer vaccine was the one that really clobbered me!

This is the first time that I have had a problem with a vaccine.

My body does not like vaccines or drugs. I manage to get all the side effects, well not quite all, like the ones who mention death as a side effect. It also does not like giving blood, I have had nurses refusing to try again after seeing how my body holds on to it!

Hi piglette! Me too, my life changed dramatically that day. Thank goodness for this wonderful forum to keep me sane.

I had the new Pfizer jab on 4/10/23 and I feel like I’ve got PMR all over again.. It feels so unfair, even 10 mgs only helped a bit - from 5 mgs.

Thank you. You make me feel much better.

Better than being in ICU for sure. X

In keeping with this thread, I had the Moderna Vaccine last Thursday evening, I seemed fine the next day but on the second day I woke up with a very sore, very red area on the muscle and it was somewhat swollen and eventually a bit itchy. I researched the condition and “Covid Arm” fit what was happening. It was said it could last 4-5 days or longer. It is now the 6th day not swollen or sore but still faintly red. I was wondering if that had happened to anyone on this blog. I just want to add that I have been in remission from PMR for several years but still follow this group every day.
