He lived a wonderful life
My father passed away on Sunday, 10/15/2023, at the age of 91. We initially learned of his very high PSA level on 10/14/2021 (two years prior), with the diagnosis of Stage 4 metastatic prostate cancer soon thereafter. Letting Go
If it is one thing that I have after almost 18 years of playing this game, it is a story or perhaps many stories. So Many chapters. What I am about to say may seem easy from the perspective of undetectable PSA and clear scans these past 10 years. I assure you that at the time there was nothing easy about

My decision on Radiotherapy -v- Prostatectomy
I hope this story might be useful to others. I'm based in the UK and had a PSA of 12.7 from a test in June 2023. That led to an MRI in August with a PI-RADS of 5 with irregularity on the front of the prostate. I eventually had a biopsy at the end of September after 3 cancellations (this was through the

Iron levels during pregnancy
At 28 weeks I had my bloods taken by a stand in MW. At my 31 weeks appointment I was told I should have been contacted as my iron levels were low and put on iron tablets. I'm now 35 weeks and they're still under 100. I'm going to have an iron drip today. Just wondered if any of you have had issues with

Radio sensitizers and Microbiome
I'm about to start a slightly novel radiotherapy - we will add in distant retroperitoneal nodes. 28 treatments = 70gy. I have a two part question: 1. Has anyone an opinion or experience with using supplements as radiosensitizers. Google "radiosensitizers and prostate cancer - NIH". Lots of studies

protein supplements: yes or no?
Since I just finished Viewray Tx at UCLA, I’m moving on to the diet & exercise research zone. I’d like input on what the latest research, if any, is RE protein supplements. Whey isolate vs. vegan protein supp? Does either one promote or suppress PCa after Tx? Also, what’s the latest on eggs? It seems

Discontinue all antioxidant supplements on early signs of biochemical recurrence?
The latest literature appears to indicate a PSA as low as 0.03, regardless of the multi-result dynamics is a reliable very early confirmation of biochemical recurrence. Maybe it's arguable some rare cases may "slip through" and stabilize without further treatment but data from the latest studies is

Confusing CT scan results
My PSA has been rising slowly after prostate removal two years ago. Was at zero months after and slowly rising at .02,.03. .05, .06. .09 and then .13. My doctor ordered CT and bone scans. Bone scan came back clear and then CT scan showed a few things in bones and a nonspecific mass outside the liver

My son’s PSA rose a bit today.
My son’s last PSA three months ago was <.01 but today it was <.10.It was previously as high as 22. He’s also tertiary five. His Mayo doctor told him to continue to test every three months, stay on current meds Lupron, Abiraterone/prednisone for another year and two months then stop meds and wait

Bloating tips
Does anyone have any tips for bloating? Happens with any meal- doesn't matter what I eat or drink? I'm 31, have 2 fibroids, had 2 prostap injections which showed the fibroids slightly shrunk but now have suspected PCOS. I have a constant bloated stomach - I've seen loads online about rheal superfoods

When's the "best" time to do the scan?
Well, it appears the salvage radiation done in January '23 (RP in 2019) may have been unsuccessful, as my latest PSA came back at 0.06, 3 months prior was 0.02. Obviously not yet actionable and not yet definitive for failure, but the indication that the barbarian hordes might be regrouping is apparent

PLUVICTO.................
Getting ready for my 5th infusion of Pluvicto. The side effects usually ground me for two to three weeks, and i always say that i am through, and can't stand anymore. When i started, my PSA was 42 + a point. It went down to 22+ a point and as of today it is 10.6. I have been boarding my dog,

What's next?
As I've written before, my husband stopped all treatment and is receiving palliative care. Just got the results of his 3-mo. PSA and it's jumped from 40 to 91. Wondering if there's any way to know if/when symptoms will start appearing due to PCa's further or worsening spread? He experiences some pain

Are Lymph nodes a filter?
Do lymph nodes simply act as a temporary filter to prevent cancer from spreading too far? I was curious about this because I have 4th stage prostate cancer, and my Lymph had swelled to the size of a golfball. When I took the ADT, my PSA went from 1000, down to 6, and all evidence of cancer disappeared

Provenge Underway
Morning folks, Well I completed my first cycle of Provenge yesterday and all seems well so far. I also met with MO to review recent genetic testing results and have confirmed a mutation BRiP1 which is associated with autosomal dominant hereditary ovarian cancer, autosomal recessive Fanconia anemia,

ADT + Zytiga holiday???
I've been on Orgovyx since 8/15/22 and Zytiga since 4/1/23. I'm also suffering from neuropathy from nerve damage that occurred in December 22. The nerve pain has gotten worse and my oncologist and neurologist are wondering if ADT or Zytiga are too blame. Anyone have experience with these drugs and
