Metastatic prostate cancer in the lungs
Radical prostatectomy in 2003 with PSA of 3.9. PSA slowly rose to .07 in 2023. PET scan in May, 2023 found nodules in my lungs with the largest being 1.4 cm. Needle biopsy identified it as metastatic adenocarcinoma from prostatic origin. 5 sessions of 50Gy cyberknife treatments on the 1.4 cm nodule

Dutasteride reduces PSA by 40% over 6 months
This companion chart from data reported in Moore (2017) compares PSA, at baseline and at 6 months, comparing placebo to Dutasteride. This was a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial. The cohort included Low and Intermediate Risk men, GS-6-7, baseline PSA = 6-7, median age 64 y.o

Testosterone was slowly recovering after stopping all meds 8/10/2023 then started dropping!
It looked like Provenge and SBRT last October had lowered and stabilized my rapidly rising PSA to around 1.8 for three months. Then three weeks ago it mysteriously doubled in a month to 3.1 A new PSMA scan showed four new scattered bone mets appearing since last PSMA scan 3 months prior. Micro mets

PSA rise
2 months ago my PSA was 20. I have had extensive screening done prior to starting a clinical trial on Tuesday. My PSA has gone up to 367 since then. CT scan showed no significant change and I had bone scan yesterday. Onco says it may just be increased activity of existing cancer cells and not necessarily

PSA showing .014 - concerned?
I had RP 3/22, PSA went up to .095 3 months after. I started Orgovyx on 8/15/22 had radiation Jan & Feb 23 and started Abi 4/23. All my psa's have been 0 since 10/22. Now it is at .014. I see my oncologist next Tuesday but I don't want to wait for his answer. How bad of a sign is this? I'm guessing

Promising metastasis prevention break-through
https://news.stanford.edu/2023/12/20/breast-cancer-metastasis-off-switch-revealed/ It turns out that both breast and prostate cancers are cold tumors so could help prostate cancer survival too.

Docetaxel - how many rounds did you have?
With my husband's recent PSA reading of 5 (down from 162 before we started chemo), it appears still to be working for him. Our MO plans to continue as long as it works and his body tolerates it. Other than being a couch potato and having digestive issues for one week out of three, he's doing okay.

Androgen Receptor Activity (ARA) for BAT
I read somewhere (here?) that ARA is a good predictor of BAT efficacy and that Johns Hopkins has a test for it. I have been trying to track down such a test, at Johns Hopkins or elsewhere, with no success. Any suggestions? Androgen receptor activity in prostate cancer dictates efficacy of bipolar

Studies re: PSA > 0.5% after RT
Can anyone interpret the gist of these studies? Correct me if I am wrong (and I sure hope to be) but from what I am gleaning, it seems that for those who have RT and a concurrent round of ADT: 1) Researchers and studies are showing that waiting 18 months to reach a post RT nadir isn't necessary to determine

I got my results from PSA/PET last week, showing no metastatic activity anywhere, bones and lymph nodes clear. My last Gleason score was 4+3 in 1 sample, 3+3 in 2 more same side, but focus of intraductal cancer in 2 cores on other side. Last PSA 5.3 in February, stable between 5.0 and 5.8 last 2 years

psa rising
After a second rise in psa from .04 to .21 in three months we decided to meet with a medical oncologist to discuss next steps. I am inclined to get a scan to locate pc but it may be too low. I have had surgery followed by salvage radiation followed by a scan and pelvic radiation so I may have exhausted

Is nmCRPC potentially curable?
I would appreciate any input on this. I searched the internet and found this article from Fred Saad: Treatment of nonmetastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer: focus on second-generation androgen receptor inhibitors https://www.nature.com/articles/s41391-020-00310-3 I couldn't find anything

Has anyone had a side effect when taking Xtandi. An allergic reaction of full body itchy burning unbearable rash after taking it a week. Took Abiraterone for 4 years with no side effects. PSA started to rise so was switched to Xtandi. They took me off the drug but the rash is horrible. taking prednisone

My husband was diagnosed in Jan. 2022 by his Urologist for Stage 3b Highly Aggressive (label they gave it) prostate cancer, Gleason score of 8, into seminal vessicles, but no mets seen on PET Scan. Received Lupron for 18 months and Casodex 50mg was initiated immediately and continued once a day
