First 6 months on pd dialysis
I just hit my first 6 months on pd dialysis. I am still working as a car salesman long hrs on my feet. I'm not sure how much longer I can do this I'm exhausted all the time. I can't sleep the cycler wakes me up every time I drain and fill. I have been working 10-12 hr days with only 4-5 hrs sleep.

Wondering about Social Life in HD Centers
Hi All! I am 64-year-old man with a long history of dealing with CKD and dialysis. I started doing peritoneal dialysis in 2005 and continued until I got a transplant in 2009. I think I was probably lucky that I didn't have to wait longer. My kidney has been holding up, but my eGFR has been hanging around

Metal Rod in femur 2004 due to accident and osteomalacia
Hi all I have a burning question. I've had this rod in my leg now since around 2004. I get the odd excruciating side affects of leg pain in my sciatic nerve and the lower vertebra of my spine. I learnt to cope with these episodes over the years but still debilitating in my life. Now I have never

I was on dialysis for 2&1/2 years. been diabetic since 1989. the problems i have post transplant are i believe to the immunesuppresant medicine. I have balance problems, concentration & some memory problems along with weight gain (50 lbs-mostly fluid); I'm still blessed & thankful for the transplant

Why Cholesterol does not cause Heart Disease
The latest informative post from Dr Kendrick, a must read for all What causes heart disease part XXXVI (part thirty-six) by Dr. Malcolm Kendrick 5th September 2017 Wipe your mind clear of all previous ideas about CVD. About as easy as standing in the corner and not thinking about a tiger. In reality

Waiting for a Donor
Hi everyone, Just found this site today. Been on dialysis for a year now and getting worse everyday. I am on 3 donor lists, but nothing yet. Being from a large family (5 siblings) you'd think one of them would be a match, but unfortunately none of them were for one reason or another. I am desperately
