Finally off vent after 77days
Today my father in law has finally been taken off his vent and had his
tracheostomy
removed! After 77 days on a vent in icu and 79 in hospital all together. They're going to monitor him over the next few days and hopefully are looking to transfer him closer to home.

Covid 19 3 months sick again
He was supposed to get
tracheostomy
. But suddenly everything went backwards.. His kidney started failing again and needed dialysis.. His heart was not working good again and was put on vasopressors.. and his lungs needed extra support from the ventilator.

Brain Haemorrhage recovery
He was given a
tracheostomy
but that was removed 2 weeks ago. Since having that removed he has become more responsive to us & is trying to talk. He still hasn’t moved the left side of his body. Most of the time we can’t make out what he’s trying to say but the odd word does come through.

Tracheostomy
My husband is still sedated and on the
tracheostomy
. His oxygen level is still 35% and he requires the ventilator. It has been 5 weeks now since he is in icu and no progress and I am worried.

Covid19 now the after effect
They believe that he won’t ever get off the ventilator because his lungs are so scarred so they want to do the
tracheostomy
but we should know he probably won’t ever get off and most likely be sent to a long term facility were we can’t see him if he survives this.

He is ventilated as he got pneumonia and was very agitated when they tried to remove the sedative, so he couldn't breathe. They did a tracheotomy just

What should I do?
I have a stoma from what was thought to be a permanent
tracheostomy
which I decanulated after 7 years. Does this increase my chance for infection what can I do to prevent that

Dad's Tracheostomy was leaking he now back under sedation
having video called him this after he was aware and awake but very uncomfortable and was trying to explain something. The doc called later to say they had to put him back to sleep and take the trach out and go back on ventilator as it was leaking and will investigate and try to redo it in 2 days time

mom has been in the ICU for 6 weeks...doctors are discouraging.
Hello, my mom, who is 51, was admitted to the hospital on May 8 for severe edema and joint pains. After several blood tests and a kidney biopsy, she was diagnosed with Class 4 Lupus Nephritis. The lupus was causing her kidneys to fail (hence the edema). About a week after being at the hospital, my family
