My dad a COVID19 paient who suffered from actue pneumonia twice and heart infection due to the Virus, after 4 dreaded calls and very low low times, finally my father after 3 months in ICU is able to breath unaided.
He is due to have the Tracheostomy removed within days as his speaking has improved and he managed to swallow.
Its been one hell of a rollercoaster ride.
With out this group i dont think i could have managed to cope as i have.
Thank you all.

It’s such a relief to hear those words “they are breathing on their own” 8wks I waited to hear that, my partner is now out of ICU on the ward talking but very confused, trachy is out, taking soft food and sipping water, it’s been a very dark lonely journey on the roller coaster of emotions as you say this site is so supportive, it’s full of hope & advice for those of us who had had the misfortune to tread the road less travelled. Best wishes to you all x
I am made up for you. I remember your posts and how hopeless at times it looked. It’s just wonderful when someone makes it through. This is a massive step, I’m sure there will be further challenges - my husband got pneumonia again for the third time after his trachy was removed but he got over that too. Breath xx
