Vitamins with iodine
I’m looking at starting a multi vitamin spray, the BetterYou one has 150mcg iodine in it. I have Hashimoto’s and I’m not sure if iodine could be a problem. Thanks

Carbimazole is not working
This is my second time having an overactive thyroid - Graves. I started getting treated in March and since then I have had two spikes in my T4 - last reading it was 35 with me taking 25mg of Carbimazole. I am waiting for my new bloods just now and I don’t think the Carbimazole is working. My HR is regularly

Please someone give me some light?! I need a prescription for ndt or Armour thyroid in the uk, this is my 1st post, I am new 😓
Am at my wits end, just been told after nearly 2 years battling with my gp that he won't prescribe ndt privately... I've had my case taken to the doctor council which got rejected! I just need a dr who is willing to give me a prescription for ndt, I started off having an overactive thyroid after birthing

Facial Hair
Does anyone suffer with facial hair? I have been prescribed Vaniqa cream to help the regrowth ( or prevention ) . However, as a busy student, there never seems to be a good time to put my Vaniqa and whenever I do, it smells and itches! Has anyone got advice?

Let down
So months on since I started my process of finding out what was wrong with me and I got my date for my MRI. I turn up and basically felt like they did not want to go through with the scan. Every answer I had was being scrutinized (I do understand theres procedures and it is for safety). Because I constantly

Graves Disease Treatment/Recovery
Hi guys! I just wanted to send out a post of encouragement to everyone. This is a wonderful site to learn about treatment options for hyper and hypothyroidism and it helped me feel less alone! But I also think it is important to talk about the recovery process to give everyone who just got diagnosed

Motor neurone diagnosis but think issues are thyroid related.
I’m posting on behalf of my dad. He was diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer in Sept 2016. He had a 6 and half hour operation to remove his thyroid, 2 parathyroids, and over 40 lymph nodes as it had spread. He then had one dose of radioactive iodine and in early 2017 was given the all clear. After

link between super fitness and obesity
Just read 'The haywire heart' by Chris Case ,John MandrolaMD and Lennard Zinn, a book which I found to be quite fascinating. It is aimed at Super athletes but it contains a lot of well reasoned information and advice on dealing with Afib, and compares the super fit with other sufferers and ordinary

Graves’ disease - is remission possible?
My husband has seen a new endo today who told him that a chance of achieving a remission for a male are very slim and he suggested the RAI. The doctors have originally thought that he has TED but they seemed to have ruled it out now. My husband had a bad flare up in January and his levels were sky

Fireworks, perchlorate and fetal brain development linked
Every year, when the supermarkets fall over themselves to sell fireworks rather than food, I am reminded of the connection between a significant ingredient of fireworks and the thyroid. This year, whilst a bit late - Guy Fawkes and Diwali have been and gone - I am at least getting round to posting.
