Update on Eylea treatment
Last year I was diagnosed with a type of wet macular degeneration in my left eye. I dont see perpendiculars as wavey but I do have a small grey area below central vision and within that area objects are not too clear. I had 7 Eylea injections over the year the last one at the begining of Oct 2018. A

Good morning, I wonder if I might have some feedback on my recent results. I am with Graves Disease diagnosed 2003 and RAI thyroid ablation 2005. I started self medication with Natural Desiccated Thyroid in November 2018. I am currently on 1+1/2 at 4.00 am in the morning. I feel good, and my intention

Weight loss - is it possible?
Any help on losing weight? I had rai a year ago and since then have piled on tons of weight. Gp still struggling to get my levo right. At the moment I've just been upped to 175 levo again (still feel dreadful I'm sure my weight gain isn't helping physically or mentally). I'm trying to eat sensibly but

Food interactions with Hypothyroidism low iodine
Hi gang, sharing this great article in regards to foods that may affect hypothyroid. I am taking Liothyronine with a lot of ups and downs and suspected the foods I am eating are affecting my absorption. Hope it can help you too!! https://www.everydayhealth.com/hs/thyroid-pictures/foods-to-avoid/

Hi, I was wondering if I may possibly have a mild/ beginning stage of Lupus. The test that I will post below was ordered by a Rheumatologist that I was referred to but after reviewing this and my other labs, he has expressed that he doesn’t feel the need to see me. My platelets have been consistently

Can Anyone Recommend A Good Endocrinologist
I have had Hashimoto's Thyroiditis since 1979 - The doctors at that time had me drink radioactive iodine. After a while, they put me on synthetic thyroid meds and they stopped working properly in 2003. They switched me to a combo T3/T4 - amour thyroid. All went well for a while and now I have hypothyroid

Zoon',s Balanitis
Go on then.... Google it! I did! I had never heard of it before being diagnosed: I can't say that I have learned much at all about it in the last 3 years! This forum is going to change all that,I know... What can I say, except that it itches like mad and is often very painful! Fucidin and Timodine creams

Should I be on any medication?
Hi there - I was diagnosed with Hashimotos just over two years ago and have had my thyroid levels checked three times over the past two and a half years. My doctor keeps telling me that I'm fine but I'm wondering whether I should be on any medication? I'm taking a range of vitamins as I was low on Iodine

Cancerous tumour
I went for my post op yesterday, it’s now roughly 3 weeks since total thyroidectomy. The specialist told me they found a tumour ( cancerous) within the thyroid. I was so shocked I didn’t really hear much of what he said after that. He said a cancer support nurse will call me next week. Has anyone else

Help with results
Hi All After much persuasion my gp raised my Levothyroxine dose from 75mcg daily to 100mcg one day 75mcg the next. My TSH has tumbled, T4 near top of scale and T3 crept up a little bit. I still feel under medicated but gp doesn’t want to increase dose so I’m thinking of adding half a grain of privately

How do you deal with ignorant doctors?!
I take NDT and have for the past seven years. I was originally prescribed Armour, then Erfa, but switched to Thai NDT because of the prohibitive cost of prescription NDT. I find Thyroid-S to work much better than both Armour and Erfa at a fraction of the cost. The doctor who put me on NDT has no problems

Regenerus Labs Iodine Testing
Hey I’m thinking of using Regenerus Labs 24 hour urine test to check iodine status. http://regeneruslabs.com/shop/product/urine-iodine-24-hr-nut3-191 Anybody tried this method and could help me interpret the results, their sample report is hard to make sense of, as figures are given as mg rather than

I was just diagnosed with Plummer's disease. I was first diasgnosed with Hyper based on blood test, and I have now finished a radioactive iodine uptake scan. The radiologist told me it was plummer's disease. He said I can either do medication or abalation to the one side of thyroid. My left side it basically

Graves disease and a multi-nodular goitre: On low dose carbimazole, but now GP only testing for TSH annually?
Hi In April 2017 the endo consultant discharged me back to my GP (as I didn't want radioactive iodine treatment). As my Graves had recurred when I stopped carbimazole the previous year, the consultant said I needed to take carbimazole for life, with 3 monthly blood tests. Since then I have been on 5mg

Pregnancy and Iodine
Hey, Can anyone tell me whether the British Thyroid Foundation or Thyroid UK currently recommends prenatal vitamins containing iodine for those with Hashimoto’s hypothyroidism? I’m aware that Levothyroxine naturally had iodine but is this enough for pregnancy requirements?
