Does anyone suffer with facial hair? I have been prescribed Vaniqa cream to help the regrowth ( or prevention ) . However, as a busy student, there never seems to be a good time to put my Vaniqa and whenever I do, it smells and itches! Has anyone got advice?

To add, I do use hair removal cream beforehand.

Hiya - Yeah this is something that has started to grow over the last 3-4 years for me. As well as hairs starting to grow on my boobs which is just delightful! I thought it was bad enough having to remove hair from literally my toes to my belly buttom (including my bum..which is hairier than a mans!) but now it's on my face as well. I'm shaving my chin and neck every day and have started to have laser hair removal at my local hospital. I've been referred to an endocrinologist so I am hoping they will be able to help me as well.

Yup my butt is hairier than my husbands lol - irritating isnt it!!

I had laser on my face about 10 years ago - the average for pcos ladies is 15 sessions and then maintenance, I havent had anything done for about 3 years now but a few of the goaty ones are sprouting back so I do need a top up, I am on the combined pill which does help to slow down the hair growth.

I dont worry too much about body hair nowadays so I just shave or use an epilator - my husband loves me hair and all :-)

Vaniqa can take a good few months to work, I wouldnt do it at the same time as hair remover cream I have to say

No, it may not be the best idea. Thanks though

I had to stop using Vaniqa as it didn't smell and itch, but it literally felt like it was smothering my skin and horrible acne would follow after every application and I hated how it made my skin feel. I haven't found any substitute that's worked without killing my adrenal system yet. But tbh I used to put it on same time I brushed my teeth.

I do. I haven’t seen my doctor to be prescribed anything but I buy the veet facial wax strips which are excellent for removing it. I never wanted it to come to this but it’s got so bad I had no option. I was so worried it would make the problem worse but I only need to use them about once a month. Xx

Its a myth that shaving and waxing makes it worse so dont worry, waxing actually thins it out, I have been waxing my legs for years and they are really patchy now (still bloody hairy in places tho!!)

Hi

Personally I was my legs and arms and stomach area. As for my face I will only have threading as that seems to be the most delicate for my skin that is fairly sensitive on my face. I've been doing this process for about 15 years and it is working for me.

I think creams cam be harsh but it's more about trial and error to see what suits you best.
