Hi,

This is the most exciting, hectic and rewarding time of the year for the CLL Society, as we are soon headed to ASH 2018 in San Diego to bring back the information that will make you a smarter patient. Every year we are filled with amazement and gratitude for the unstoppable energy expended by clinical researchers, bench scientists, pharmaceutical companies, and others who hold CLL and its challenges for the patient in the crosshairs. Every year we witness giant leaps forward in understanding the biology and the development of new and more precisely targeted treatment options.

We will be there with camera in hand. We will bring you the news. Daily updates. In depth interviews.

And we are presenting our own research and will be interviewed several times with international press coverage of our survey

POP QUIZ! What do these 50 + CLL doctors have in common?

Dr. John Byrd, Dr. Thomas Kipps, Dr. Richard Furman, Dr. Anthony Mato, Dr. John Pagel, Dr. Steve Rosen, Dr. William Wierda, Dr. Sanjay Sharma, Dr. Kanti Rai, Dr. Michael Hallek, Dr. David Maloney, Professor Peter Hillmen, Dr. Stephen Stilgenbauer, Professor John Seymour, Dr. Matthew Davids, Dr. Susan O'Brien, Dr. Jennifer Brown, Dr. Adrian Wiestner, Dr. Januario Castro, Dr. Michael Choi, Dr. Andrew Roberts, Professor John Gribben, Dr. George Follows, Dr. Claire Dearden, Dr. Kostas Stamatopoulos, Dr. Paolo Ghia, Dr. Jan Burger, Dr. Tait Shanafelt, Dr. Andrew Zelenetz, Dr. Neil Kay, Dr. Cameron Turtle, Dr. Jeffrey Jones, Dr. Constantine Tan, Dr. Jeffrey Sharman, Dr. Tanya Siddiqi, Dr. Aliki Xochelli, Dr. Tal Munir, Dr. Robert O'Connor, Dr. Patrick Thornton, Dr. Nitin Jain, Dr. Deborah Stephens, Dr. Farrukh Awan, Dr. Ian Flinn, Dr. Danielle Brander, Dr. Utkarsh Acharya, Dr. Joe Flynn, Dr. Mark Wildgust, Dr. Philip Payne, Dr. Chris Fagen, Dr. Ben Kennedy, Dr. Donna Neuberg.

New CLL Comic Book

This week we feature a creative and educational comic book on CLL from our friends at the French CLL nonprofit organization, SILLC.

Hope to see some of you at the CURE Gala where Chris Dwyer, the late Lisa Minkove, Dr. John Byrd and myself will be celebrated as CURE 2018 CLL Heroes. I have to pinch myself sometimes to think where this CLL journey has taken me and the amazing people I have met along the way including all those honored by CURE.

Meanwhile, stay strong. We are all in this together!

Brian

Thanks Dr Brian, for all you do for us. You (and the others) well deserve your titles as CURE CLL heroes!

I was interested to see Dr Tal Munir amongst the list of doctors you’ve interviewed. Dr Tal was the one who looked after me through my ruptured spleen crisis three years ago. I owe a lot to him.

I hope you have a great time at ASH. Good to hear you’re taking your camera, and are going to send us daily updates and the latest news.

Congratulations on being honored as a CURE 2018 CLL Hero. Well deserved, I'm certain. Also being a patient of Dr. O'Brien's I look forward to a video from her when at ASH. The information that comes from these doctors is amazing with news that is always anticipated. I look forward to ASH each year and all that comes from these wonderful, dedicated, CLL physicians.
