Have you had coeliac blood test yet?

Are you now on strictly gluten free diet?

Did you get private blood test and vitamins tested ?

Low vitamins are extremely common and then we can't use thyroid hormones well

Add test results and ranges if you have them

Hi

No coeliac bloods

I still eat gluten

Vitamins are in low end of the ranges but I am seeing a nutritionist for that

T4 is high and T3 medium range

Taking 175 levo but endo want to lift to 175 then 200 every other day

Many many people after Graves or Hashimoto's need to be strictly gluten free

Always best to get coeliac blood test first, just to rule it out

Very easy test. Buy online for under £20

The only way to know if it helps is to try it

Trying gluten free diet for 3-6 months. If no noticeable improvement then reintroduce gluten and see if symptoms get worse

What are your actual results for vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12?

What vitamin supplements are you taking?

Tried any probiotics or bone broth?

Both can help heal gut

This paper would seem to indicate that there can be some damage caused :

"RAI treatment causes gastric mucosal injury and amifostine was found to decrease radioactive iodine treatment-related gastric damage."

Hello Paul

I am with Graves post RAI 2005.

I have been living these past 5 years with what I believe are long term consequences of drinking the radioactive iodine. I have received no help from any Nhs department and am now looking after myself and self medicating.

As to your question, suggest you take a look at the Elaine Moore Foundation for Graves. This lady has Graves and drank RAI and has spent many years researching and developing what is now a very comprehensive website. It is USA based, so medical protocol maybe slightly different, but there are forums on which to ask questions etc.

There is also her book Graves Disease - A Practical Guide - if you prefer or need both very informative reading.

I also think on the STTM website there is a section on RAI giving some 20 reasons not to go down this route.

I just wish I knew all this back in 2005 - I'm learning about myself backwards !!!

Not what you're looking for?
