There was an interesting post recently about training in resuscitation techniques. Inspired by this I contacted The Red Cross. Here's their reply, unfortunately no CPR training near to me, but for anyone in London, Salford, Edinburgh, or Belfast there's an opportunity to acquire a skill that might

Omega 3 and Salmon consumption
I eat Salmon once or twice a week. Considering what I've read here, is that something to avoid?. I am 26 months post EBRT. I obtained a rx for androgel for QOL. My latest psa was up to 0.1 after being undetectable. I have discontinued androgel since. Any advice will be much appreciated. Chasu

Alendronic Acid and Pred
My friend who's a long term sufferer of pmr (11 years) was down to 2.5mg but after a mishap had to back to 5mg. She had a review with a new young GP who told her that if she went back on Alendronic Acid, this would help her get off pred. Has anyone else been told this? Wouldn't we all be on it

Taking R lipoic acid
I have been taking alpha lipoic acid for 18 months now. For the last 10 years everytime I’ve been to the clinic twice per year at least my stone loading increased - either new stones or larger stones. Since I have been taking lipoic acid my stones have remained the same size. I have read the feeds and

I first posted this on the Neurotalk forum in 2018. I make a few additions here. Recently I heard the story of a women who controlled her dyskinesia by eating protein. Levodopa induced dyskinesia normally occurs when levodopa levels are at their highest (typically between 30 minutes and 90 minutes

vitamin advice
hi, I’ve got myself bogged down in an effort to take supplements to help with bone loss. I was diagnosed with osteopenia following a DEXA scan. I don’t want to take Alendronic acid and my GP agreed with me taking vitamin D3 + K2 mk7 and magnesium glycinate and to have a further DEXA scan in three years

Having two contraceptions
Hi, I'm about to get the Mirena coil but I'm currently on the depo injection. I was wondering if it's ok to be on two contraceptions at once? I'm thinking it might help with the transition and pain as I'm really struggling to get strong enough pain killers from my GP. They have prescribed mefenamic

Stopped AA but taking EvacalD3
After an MRI showing four compression fractures, my GP put me on Alendronic Acid and EvacalD3. I read about some side effects for AA and stopped taking it after nine months. I am still taking Evacal. Is this safe enough? I am nearing 78 and my risk for osteoporosis is not high. My bones are in quite
