Thyroglobulin antibodies???

I recently took a blood test, suggested by a acupuncturist, and it has come back as being positive for high levels of Thyroglobulin antibodies. Obviously ive disappeared down the rabbit hole that is internet searching and now panicking that this is the reason ive had to BFN's from recent IUI treatments. I was wondering if anyone had any prior experience with this and if your clinics suggested any alternative treatments or suggested changes. I feel like my clinic are just waiting for each negative test to get to the next round for more money rather than looking at solutions before the next round. Any advice much appreciated thank you x

Easier said than done but please stop looking at Google Have you spoken to your clinic /GP re the blood test results - might be an idea to do so This could help with your anxiety levels

Hi Lostinmaze, sorry you're going down a rabbit hole with this, it can be stressful when you get into a search loop but a lot of people can have high antibodies and it can be controlled by thyroid meds. There are other lifestyle things that can help too such as limiting gluten because the gluten molecule is the same as the thyroid molecule and the body can have a reaction to that too. Certain supplement/probiotics can help too depending on your symptoms. Different things work for different people. I find a great resource is Dr. Izabella Wentz, she has a lot of info on hashimoto's and she does have some articles on fertility and pregnancy too. Have a search for her and see what you think. Keep advocating for yourself with your clinic and fingers crossed you get some success soon xx

Thank you Axel131 really appreciate the response. So easy to get lost in search engines and trying to find answers! Oddly enough this has never been picked up i dont have any symptoms so its obviously sat there dormant and finally picked up on a by chance test, shame I did test before starting my journey. Thank you for the Dr Wentz recommendation I will do some research. Have contacted my clinic but so far no response, hopefully hear something soon. Thank you again ☺️

Sometimes the GP's will only look at the TSH results (Thyroid stimulating hormone) and will only pick up on the antibodies if they do a full thyroid panel. For me with my thyroid issue, my body wasn't converting the T4 hormone in my body to the usable T3 so I was on ineffective meds for years. What I'd come to consider normal, my very low energy was remarkably better when I took the correct meds so you never know, you could see some improvements that you weren't aware were a problem!
