Cellulitis in foot and hands, leading to dramatic skin changes all over my body
I have primary lymphoedema in my left foot which has been well controlled through compression and daily creaming of the affected area. Despite showing no signs of any lesion I developed cellulitis which went un-diagnosed for a week or so as I was unaware of what it was. My foot and ankle were very swollen

Post thyroidectomy hyperthyroidism and thank you
Thanks all for your advice on follow-up tests after tests showed I was hyper despite having had a full thyroidectomy 14 years ago. You gave me the confidence to be pushy!! My GP was very reticent but my immunologist acted very quickly. These are my latest results. I am also booked in for a thyroid

Hi All I'm having a bit of a crash at the moment and having to cancel so many social events, which is frankly quite depressing! Red marks on face
Does anyone use Elocon steroid cream, I used it on my red lupus marks a few years ago and they cleared up. I now have a couple of red marks on face, quite small, and have started using Elocon on them as they just won’t disappear. Some days they look really faded and other days look red again. I’m going

Vitamin D
There are two forms of vitamin D – vitamin D2 & vitamin D3 and to remain in good health, it is important to ensure our bodies receive adequate levels of both...Vitamin D2 is ingested from a healthy, balanced diet and can be derived from everyday foods such as: Egg yolks and fatty fish like; trout, mackerel

almost 200 days post SCT update
Spurred on by Jennie’s update earlier, I thought it was high time that I wrote an update on my progress. I’m almost at 200 days post transplant. I’ve hardly had any issues so far other than my Hb count has sat quite stubbornly at or around 80 for the past couple of months. This has resulted in a good

A Different View on Bone Protection
Replied to a question about bone protective medications on another forum today, and thought it might be of interest to some here at FPC. So pasting it here. Full disclosure: I have been taking denosumab (Prolia or Xgeva) for over 5 years and currently have normal bone density. I also take Calcium supplement

Itchy patches
Since jabbing myself with Pegasys interferon alfa2a for CALR +ET diagnosis, I've noticed the appearance of several small itchy patches on my abdomen and back. The ones on the abdomen are not on the site of the jab. My GP prescribed the application of a moderate steroid cream and one other non-steroid

Advice on Medichecks Results Please
Hello, my first time posting! As advised on this forum I stopped Meds 24hrs before test, it was at 9.20 in the morning. The only supplement I take is Colecalciferol 800unit capsules prescribed by GP as at one point I had extremely low vitamin D. I’m on Levothyroxine 100mcg daily (Accord). I was diagnosed

Vitamin D and IBS. Did it help you?
It seems like the jury's out on this. Sheffield University say it doesn't help IBS symptoms, based on their study (July 2021) here: https://www.sheffield.ac.uk/news/vitamin-d-supplements-ineffective-treatment-painful-ibs-symptoms Then Dr Ruscio says that a placebo-controlled clinical trial

Calcium needed or not…?
This is an open-end question, for which there might not be an answer. After diagnosis of PMR my Rheumy prescribed a DEXA scan. Showed mild Osteopenia. Was told to take 1,000 mg / day to help prevent degrading into Osteoporosis as taking Prednisone can progress that disease. So, started reading scientific

Itchy knots under skin
I've been experiencing painful, itchy knots on my arms and legs that turn to blisters. Even worse when I scratch them. It's the same experience I have when I get mosquito bites, but I have not been exposed to any insects or allergens. Anyone else ever have this problem? My doctor just gave me a steroid

low B12 - should I ask for injections?
I am 47 years old and suffer from dizziness (off balance and not able to walk for long distances and the heart races) and anxiety. After 15 years of being fobbed off as anxious and being asked to do breathing exercises, Last year, I found that I was low in B12 and got liquid supplements. I must add that
