osteopenia, Hashimotos and sjogrens
hi, my rheumatologist has prescribed Adcal and Alendronic acid. Due to oesphagitis because of Sjögren’s I don’t want to take Alendronic acid. Through research and the help of thyroid UK I now take vitamin D3 MK2 and magnesium. Pains in my chest which used to feel like a heart attack have cleared up since

Positive thyroid antibodies
Hello! I have recently been told I have positive thyroid antibodies. I appreciate this isn't as serious as most other thyroid conditions but I wonder if anyone could help me with suggestions to alleviate the tiredness. I am told there is no treatment and vitamin D3 which the GP suggested hasn't made

Phimosis: My journey through
I am in my late 40s and almost 2 years ago I first developed phimosis. It basically happened suddenly. The only thing I can think of that may have caused it is that it developed soon after a day when my wife got (very unusually) sexually frisky. I did not have any noticeable injury at the time, but skin

Cellulitis in foot and hands, leading to dramatic skin changes all over my body
I have primary lymphoedema in my left foot which has been well controlled through compression and daily creaming of the affected area. Despite showing no signs of any lesion I developed cellulitis which went un-diagnosed for a week or so as I was unaware of what it was. My foot and ankle were very swollen

Post thyroidectomy hyperthyroidism and thank you
Thanks all for your advice on follow-up tests after tests showed I was hyper despite having had a full thyroidectomy 14 years ago. You gave me the confidence to be pushy!! My GP was very reticent but my immunologist acted very quickly. These are my latest results. I am also booked in for a thyroid

Red marks on face
Does anyone use Elocon steroid cream, I used it on my red lupus marks a few years ago and they cleared up. I now have a couple of red marks on face, quite small, and have started using Elocon on them as they just won’t disappear. Some days they look really faded and other days look red again. I’m going

almost 200 days post SCT update
Spurred on by Jennie’s update earlier, I thought it was high time that I wrote an update on my progress. I’m almost at 200 days post transplant. I’ve hardly had any issues so far other than my Hb count has sat quite stubbornly at or around 80 for the past couple of months. This has resulted in a good

A Different View on Bone Protection
Replied to a question about bone protective medications on another forum today, and thought it might be of interest to some here at FPC. So pasting it here. Full disclosure: I have been taking denosumab (Prolia or Xgeva) for over 5 years and currently have normal bone density. I also take Calcium supplement
