Can you believe it? A doctor actually promoted prednisone.
I had my eyes checked yesterday and found I have cateracts to be removed. When I went into see the doctor who would remove them in March, I mentioned polymyalgia and not being about to get down on my prednisone. He said it was very important that I take it and that probably I would not get completely

Blurry eyes - caused by Pred? And resolving after Pred stops?
About 2 weeks ago I started to have problems with focussing out of my left eye. I went to the Optometrist who said all was fine - nerve, glaucoma, cataracts. I had been to an opthalmologist a month before with a stye (sorry!) and he carried out a similar exam and said the same. Ie: all was fine . But

Dear All, I have a friend who is quite obviously suffering form thyroid troubles: dry skin, oedema, fatigue etc etc. However, he has been to his GP in Wales and they are consistently refusing to test his FT3 levels. his is obscuring an overall diagnosis. Pricking sensation
Hi all I awaiting my second Injection at the start of march. Every now and then I get a prickinling sensation on the outside front of my thigh. It's not pins and needles it's like a spikey tingly sensation. And the floaters are back in my eyes. Anyone else suffer this?

Run 08/02 - chilly!
Hiya, I am making this post in 2 separate times, a part pre-run and a part post-run. Yesterday, Sunday, it snowed here (Belgium) with freezing temperatures, causing the roads to be slippery and all that stuff. Helped outside to clear the walkway (we are obligated to do so, should someone fall before

Hi all..I’ve just been told my doctor suspects I have PMR I’ve had a Blood test done last Thursday and are waiting to hear back ..I’ve been reading up on PMR and GcA and quite frankly it has scared the living daylights out of me! 😬. The GCA is particularly worrying as I’ve read 1-10 people go blind

Vision Problem---related to PA?
Is there any link between PA and eye function? I have a condition of the cornea where a surface membrane is not smooth (Anterior Basement Membrane Dystrophy or ABMD). It results in blurred, vision, watery eyes, and easily scratched corneas, sometimes just by firing your eyelids when you wake up.

Does anyone here have an obsession with words?
For 2 years I have always had the word absurd in front of my eyes and I'm tired of this now. I can not do anything I love. it seems like this word will never go out of my sight. Medication didn't work. I am currently receiving emdr therapy, it has helped a little but it cannot destroy the word. What

Going Gluten Free - 1 Year On #hashis
I went GF last January (religiously GF from Feb as there were some things I didn’t realise had gluten in (soy sauce being one of them)). It’s been the best thing I’ve done for my health. The most noticeable improvement was with fatigue and quality of sleep. I actually wake up feeling refreshed (before

Truth be know I have not been well really since 2017. Hair loss (alopecia totalise all my hair except my eyes lashes) I'm lucky. Chronic nodular prurigo which I am just recovering from, it causes large itchy sores and since last year I was diagnosed with PMR. Through all this I periodically get blood

Dry eye and dry nasal passages
Here’s a new one for me. I have been troubled with my eyes since before Christmas so I went to the opticians and asked them to have a look at my peepers. I was experiencing really dry gritty eyes upon waking first thing in the morning, so bad that I could barely open my eyes. Anyway they prescribed

Eye Sensitivity
My mum suffers from myopic degeneration amongst other eye problems she is blind in one eye and has very little sight in the other . Amongst coming to terms with going blind my mum has to deal with very sore painful eyes which she gets from the sun but even from a white room or too much screen time .

Pain in eye 7 days after eyelea injection
Pain in eye, 7 days after eyelea injection. Wonder if this is normal. I woke up this morning with discomfort in the eye that was treated with Eyelea. It is the 4th injection of eyelea No problems. Also previously had treatment with Lucentis. I had no problem. Would this be normal?
