Can you believe it? A doctor actually promoted prednisone.

I had my eyes checked yesterday and found I have cateracts to be removed. When I went into see the doctor who would remove them in March, I mentioned polymyalgia and not being about to get down on my prednisone. He said it was very important that I take it and that probably I would not get completely off it ever, that it helped the inflammation that might cause stroke or heart problems. He's the first doctor who said something so positive about it to me.

Enlightened fellow. A pair of safe hands for the operation I would say. I am surprised that you can have the op in March. I want one privately and thought it would be Autumn at least.

Waited a year to have first removed last July and second one removed four weeks ago. Sadly mine were really bad and worsened by a year on Prolia but wow! What a difference, sure find the same results.

Things are improving - it has been said eye specialists are better about pred, they are more aware of the risk of loss of vision and its effects.

My ophthalmologist obviously knew a lot more about pred PMR/GCA than my family doctor!
