Help with Levo brands
Was diagnosed 3 years ago, and am getting awful side effects with the various brands of Levothyroxine. Eltroxin suited me best, Actavis/Almus was terrible, it virtually disabled me. Mercury Pharma also gives me lots of side effects. Have also tried MP Levo liquid but I have problems with that too.

Nightmare!!
Hi folks, I have been feeling unwell since coming off eltroxin and being put on Levothyroxin. Bloodtest results show a bottom of the range T£ and TSH and T$ are within range. I was on 225 mcg of Levo and believe that I have gone into RT3 symptoms. My doctor says that everything is in the normal range

I'm on Armour. You all may be interested to know that Actavis have doubled the cost of Armour here in Ireland. I have had to apply to the medical hardship scheme to continue to get it on their version of the NHS. The Doctor on the Hardship scheme (not my GP) has allowed it for 3 months only because they

Where to now after eltroxin?
Thanks folks for all your encouragement and advice over the last few months. I developed tachycardia a few months ago, had 24hr holter monitor, result - "reasonable", had treadmill test, completed less than 3 mins before I had to lie down due to breathlessness, tightness across chest and down left arm

Tests to ask for?
Could someone please list the definitive tests I should ask for from my GP? I have had hypothyroidism for 25 years and my dose of thyroxine has been between 125, 200 and most recently 150mg of Eltroxin (until it's withdrawal, then Mercury Pharma) since my referral to an endocrinologist 3 years ago when

Total Thyroidectomy
Hi, just been told today that I need to have a TT, being suffering from under active thyroid for the past 5 years and I'm now on 300mg of Eltroxin and just got my bloods back last week and my TSH is 53.95. I'm absolutely exhausted and I'm piling on the weight, I'm so nervous about the operation some

Running out of options....
Was diagnosed nearly 3 years ago with hypothyroidism, and was started on Levo, was given Actavis. I felt really shocking, with joint pains so bad I could hardly walk/move. Part of the problem was being over-medicated so a change of Consultants sorted that. Tried Almus and that had the same side effects

AMCo
When I was diagnosed with Underactive Thyroid it was found I could only take Eltroxin (Goldshield). After the change over with Goldshield etc. my prescriptions have always stated MERCURY, which I understood was the same formula as Eltroxin. Now my prescription has changed to read AMCo. I am assuming

Sudden depressive episodes - hypothyroidism - is it in my head or is it the hormones?
Hi all, I'm new here. Diagnosed with hypo about 15 years ago & been on eltroxin ever since. Does goes up and down but on 75mg daily at the minute. Over the last 15 years I have had a couple of depressive episodes (maybe three, that I can think of) and I'm wondering if it's something that's physological

Muscle pain & hyper symptoms on levothyroxine (Eltroxin)
Hi, I had a total thyroidectomy July 2013. We have been struggling to get levothyroxine (Eltroxin) levels normalised for the last year. My current dose is alternate days of 125 & 100 mcg Eltroxin. My last TSH result was normal - 1.90. I don't have T4/T3 results - they weren't tested for. This blood

Is hypothyroidism and sinus tachycardia linked?
I was diagnosed hypo over a year ago, still got hypo symptoms, taking 50mcg eltroxin daily. Now got sinus tachycardia and t wave abnormality showing on ecg when I complained of my heart pounding. Resting pulse is regularly over 100, often 120-140. Could I be under or over medicated? Should I be concerned

Please can you help and advise re: blood tests
I posted about a week ago. I am on thyroxin 100mcg for hypothyroidism for last 30 years. Letrozole and Calcium/Vitamin D3 (for breast cancer diagnosed 2 years ago). Did not do well on thyroid meds so Dr agree to change to Eltroxin many years ago. Recently back on Levothyroxine as Eltroxin no longer available

I've still got hypo symptoms - excessive fatigue, cold intolerance, arm and leg muscle and joint pain, brain fog, lack of concentration, itchy scalp, hair loss, constipation/diarrhoea, abdominal pain. Diagnosed with primary hypothyroidism one year ago Over the last 6 - 8 weeks I've developed a fast
