I’m 64. HR+HER2- Ibrance/Faslodex for 18 mos. One bine met. Then Orserdu 2 months. Major progression to bones/liver. Trodelvy 6 mos. Stable but uptake increased. Just started Xeloda!
Have you had any improvement? Side effects? I’m on 1000am/1000pm. 7 days on/7 days off.
Not feeling so good. My daughter is getting married in February. I just want to feel well.
My 72 year old wife who has Stage 4 Met Breast Cancer that has spread to her bones is starting her 5th cycle on Christmas Day, and found with her Pet Scan that all the Bone Cancer is Gone, she is on 3000 mg of Xeloda, 2 weeks on 1 week off. Oncologist visit today said this is great news, as well as her tumor markers dropping 650 points in the last 3 months....but there is No Cure and over time the markers may start to increase and another option as to treatment may be needed. So Far Xeloda has been a God send as to quality of life, cost and extending my wife's life. Hope this helps you and others.
That is great news and certainly the “best” Christmas Present! We live for those good reports. May I ask - has she had any hand/foot issues or other side effects?
Yes, but only skin darkening on her hands and feet, no blistering, and only a few ( maybe three ) times having a tiny bit of nausea controlled by a 1/4 tab of her nausea medication. She has been on Ibrance, Truqap and Xeloda has worked the best so far by leaps and bounds as to her not having side effects and of course the wonderful scan results. Her Blood counts as to Red & White cells and Hemoglobin are low, but they were low on those other meds I mentioned too. Anemic as to clod hands and feet and we need to shy away from anyone who is sick of course, because of the blood counts. But her eating has improved and no weight loss either. Hope this helps, we have been on this cancer journey now for 7 years and 10 operations.
