Flu vaccine
Hi, I experienced a PMR flare about a month after getting my flu vaccine in 2018. I mentioned it to my Rheumatologist and he did not think it was connected. I wonder if it was connected. Does anyone on this site feel that there is a connection?

Are flu vaccines different around the world?
Are flu vaccines different around the world? In sense - are they made to work against the same strain of viruses? Or, perhaps - each region (i.e. Europe, Asia) expects a different virus strain and someone vaccinated against flu in Asia will not have much protection from that vaccine after traveling to

Special flu vaccine for CLL?
I’ve been waiting for my flu vaccine - and waiting and waiting. My GP practice sent for over 65s first. So my fit and well husband, with no underlying health issues has had his. Now they’ve moved on to children. When I queried why on Earth they aren’t do the extremely vulnerable group, the nurse said

Shingrix (Shingles) Vaccine
Hello. My nephrologist is recommending I get the shingles vaccine (2 doses as prescribed). I'm wondering if any post-transplant patients have received it already and if they had any reactions. Thank you. Kathleen

Flu Jab
What does everyone think about having a flu jab. If I take any sort of medicine it causes me problems so I am worried about having this and what effect it might have.

Study provides insight on how to build a better flu vaccine.
Flu season comes around like clockwork every year, and sooner or later everyone gets infected. The annual flu shot is a key part of public health efforts to control the flu, but the vaccine’s effectiveness is notoriously poor, falling somewhere from 40% to 60% in a typical year. A growing body of evidence

Flu jab
Many thanks for all the helpful replies, I'm resolved to have the flu jab this year as I'll never know if the jab triggered PMR and anyway I'm more at risk now especially this winter.

Flu shots?
i am curious. Do you get a flu shot? I am on ocrevus and neurologist says I should get one 6 weeks before my next infusion. I have never had a flu shot since i dont believe in them. I have heard too many bad stories. But now maybe i should get one. I would love to hear your comments, suggestions

Any studies on longterm effects of live shingles vaccine and PMR
I was wondering if anyone knows of any studies that have been done about those of us that contracted PMR after taking the live shingles vaccine. I wonder if PMR will last as long in our system as the shingles vaccine antibodies are active in our system? The pharmacist says the antibodies last 5+years

Should I have the flu jab
I'm 63 and new to this group. I contracted PMR 2 years ago, a few days after having the flu jab. My doctor agrees that the flu jab may have triggered PMR but there is little evidence to confirm this and his advice is to have the jab again this Autumn (I didn't have it last year) as my immune system is

Shingles Zostavax injection
Am very appreciative of all the communications and information on this site. I developed PMR as a result of the shingles(zostavax) vaccine given at the same time as the flu vaccine even though I had two contraindications for administering zostavax. I am 80 years old ( Nice specifies not suitable for

Flu jab early call-September!
I have been contacted already by my GP to get my annual flu jab. I have been called early because I have been shielding. I’m not complaining, just wondered if anyone else has had this conversation yet? Thank you😎

Shingles vaccine. Hi am am ETJak2+, I am unable to have the live shingles vaccine with nhs, but I have read that there is an inert vaccine available. Has anyone had this on the nhs and if so how did you achieve it. Thank you in advance.

Flu Jab Text
Hubby was sent a text which recommends the flu jab. It has a long link for further reading which looks to me like a twitter link - and as his phone isn't a smart phone (he is BLIND!), what exactly is he supposed to do?

Happy Day!
A few weeks ago I had my annual appointment (an on-line one this time) with my EP, Dr. Rodney Horton at TCAI in Austin. He told me that my chance of my Afib being fixed are statistically 96 percent. I do not need to follow up with him unless my heart decides to act up again. I am thrilled as it has been
