What next? Thyroid?
I am looking for some advice before I go back to the GP next week, and I feel 'safe' asking it here. First some background might help: I live in Australia- GPs and their nursing staff here are no better educated than elsewhere the world, but fortunately we can buy hydroxycobalamin over the counter

Colds/flu/viruses and Thyroxine
Just wondering is there any link to having Hashimotos and not having any colds/flu/viruses. The reason I ask is that I never got sick, with the usual colds etc for many years. I just started thyroxine a few months ago. Now I have a really horrible virus, coughing, temperature, flu like symptoms. This

T3 for treatment resistant depression
I should stipulate that even though my son's Thyroid
test
results fall within the "normal" range, his
T4
is usually about 14 and has sometimes been as low as 12, so there is a lot of room for improvement.

how to come off thyroid meds?
At some point relatively soon, I might need to come off thyroid meds to see if I need them. How do I do that?! I've done some researching and reading around this and there seem to be 2 schools of thought. One is to wean off gradually and the other is to go relatively suddenly, because any amount of

Temp advice please
My temperature was 35.3 this morning and has been below this. I thought I might be overmedicated but I am unsure if this is under treatment due to a strong medication I have been given for an infection (or if this is unrelated). My cheeks have been puffy and I feel unwell and I am not sure if I need

Switching from NDT back to T3 only
Is something like NDT (T4) withdrawal symptoms possible? To be exact, if you are on T3 only but due to some circumstances have to take NDT for a couple of weeks as a replacement and then again can switch back to T3 only, then because of the longer half-life of T4 (up to 9 days I've read), can it become

Can I eat 6 hours before thyroid test if I don't care about T4?
My T4 results have been super low since I switched to NDT about 9 months ago and I don't think the thyroid blood
test
accurately gauges
T4
if you're on NDT anyway? Is that correct?

Preparing for thyroid blood tests
This is my first posting so please forgive me if this sounds confusing. I am slated to have NHS knee replacement surgery but following my pre-op assessment have been dropped from the list because of abnormal thyroid levels. No information has been offered about the levels, what is abnormal about them

My symptoms have returned - do I need additional Levothyroxine?
Lots of info in my Profile/Biography. I have been on T4 for many years. After adding privately-sourced T3 to my prescribed T4 around 2019 I have been jogging along reasonably well until a year or so ago, when symptoms started to return. Extreme tiredness, inexplicable weight gain, bad brain fog, and
