thyroid test results
I wrote on here before about my results and you really helped. I’ve been trying to raise my ft4 and lower my tsh. I had been on 25mg levothyroxine and increased in increments of 25. After the first increase to 50 my tsh went down and ft4 up, increased to 75, first test after that ft4 rose slightly but

Does having a goitre always mean you have a thyroid problem. Asking for someone else
Hi I don't and never have had a goitre so I can't use my experience to help. I'm working with someone who has developed a large goitre. She has pain in her neck, radiating to her ear, she has a diagnosis of fibromyalgia, gall bladder removed, type 2 diabetes amongst other things. She has been told her

Hashi's swings?
Hello lovely people! I've seen people here talking about hashi swings. I'm not yet diagnosed or medicated, but I'm just wondering if these swings can cause such big changes in just a few days? I did a medichecks full test, and finally got a test through the NHS after asking the nurse at surgery. The

How can I help my son?
Much to my dismay it seems my son has inherited autoimmune (no antibodies test done yet, but I think it is) hypothyroidism from me. I had suspected he was expressing the symptoms for some time, (he was very slim, seemingly blessed with a fast metabolism and I was on the alert that it might really be

TSH & FT4 Levels
As a rule of thumb, should I aim to keep my TSH as low as possible and my FT4 as high as possible within the acceptable parameters ?

TSH Results
Can I just check if I am reading TSH results correctly. Free T4: 12.5 pmol/L TSH: 0.79 miu/L This person is experiencing symptoms of hyperthyroidism, but her results are classified as normal. Any suggestions what she should do? Thank you Kim

Test results back - within range?
I posted last week that I suspected I was hypo (family history... that and coeliac) and you suggested I go away and get bloods tested. So results are as follows, all 'within range'... Slightly disappointed because I hoped that hypo might explain some of the symptoms I have that are otherwise unexplained

Pharmacist moving thyroxine Brand every month
I get my Thyroxine delivered along with my other medication every month, for the past 6 months there has been no consistency in the brand, so I seem to be on a cycle of mercury Pharma, Teva, Aristo and another one. My TSH which is all I can get my GP to test for constantly fluctuating and I feel awful

Anyone take Co Q10 and are on T4/T3?
I’m seriously thinking of adding Co q10 to my daily routine. I get migraines, and having watched many chats on the World Migraine Summit recently, it stands out as something that might help. (I’m 58, so won’t be taking it for fertility reasons). I’m not on anything that might be contraindicated with

Update in sustained release T3 and new paper
The recent review of treatment for hypothyroidism recommended further research to look at combination therapy. A group in Iran have done the following trial looking at sustained release combination T4/T3. Fascinating…… it suggests that daily sustained release capsules can deliver a stable T3 level over

T4 level rise
Hi, does anyone have an idea of why T4 levels can rise? My t4 was 13.8 and 4 weeks later 48.2, I’ve not changed a thing! Not taken anything new, had no stress or illness this month, it’s been a pretty quiet one! If it’s not a lab error could it be due to another autoimmune disease that I don’t know of

Do I need to go back on Thyroxine?
Just a heads up folks, this is going to be a long post! I have been off thyroxine for just over a year now, I will attempt to explain in a long winded way how this came about. I was put on thyroxine when I went into menopause which happened before I was 50 (I am now 62). I have always been on 50mg,
