Red dots on skin
At today's examination there are no pathological changes that would indicate an increased risk of developing
systemic
sclerosis
, dermatomyositis or MCD. Today I was checking on my arms and I noticed pinpoint red dots, it looks like someone literally poked my skin multiple times with a needle.

Hi, am new here but just wanted to know if anyone has experienced large areas of calcinosis?
Was diagnosed with
systemic
sclerosis
11 years ago. Within last 2 years, I have experienced areas of calcinosis under the arms and just wondered if anyone else has had this and if so, what treatment was given? lumps feel very firm with one measuring about 9.5cm x 7.5cm, so quite big!

Oxygen & Diffuse Systemic Sclerosis
Hi all Well I have had a appointment today with my local Respiratory dept at the request of Mr Bierne (Leeds Rheumatology). I had 6 minute walk test whilst hooked up to an oximeter to my ear. Only got as far as 2 mins & my saturation level had dropped to 84! Then I was hooked up to a portable oxygen

Any advice for dealing with extreme anxiety of having to remove and replace hormonal coil?
So I had the mirena coil fitted about 2 years ago. Although everything has been great, I had an absolutely horrific insertion (I lost consciousness on the bed and vomited afterwards from the pain). I’m normally able to brush this experience off but tonight I’ve just been filled with this horrific sense

How is
systemic
sclerosis
likely to affect me?
Systemic
sclerosis
affects everyone differently, so it’s hard to say how it might affect you. This is a long-term condition, however the serious problems it can cause are rare.

Scientists track down a protein that may add to lung damage in asthma and related diseases.
Patients with asthma, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and
systemic
sclerosis
suffer from fibrosis and tissue remodeling, where a build-up of tissue and immune cells, and proteins that form a glue-like substance, keep the airways from expanding.

Delicate??????
I have had
systemic
sclerosis
for thirty years. I have had five operations, and have ended up with a colostomy, and mesh for a hernia. All this because of slow motility, and lack of peristalsis in the digestive system.

Breast lumps/calcinosis/fibrosis
I’ve had this condition since 1996, changing to
systemic
sclerosis
in 2010 when I lost my colon and large intestine. My abdomen was covered by internal calcinosis and obscured the organs on CT and MRI scans.
