Diagnosed and Lap within a week!
Hi guys! I had an MRI on 14th Feb for my sciatica and at the same time they noticed a 5cm cyst and possible endometriosis so got referred to a specialist the week after. After my first consultation my Dr told me lapatoscopy, hysteroscopy, die test to check my tubes and cystectomy were my best options

Hi, I’m Teddie, and I was 53 years old and post menopausal when I was diagnosed with bone mets in Dec 2017 (x2 hotspots in pelvis – left iliac bone, and left inferior pubic ramus). I turned 54 years young this January, and had my first normal mammogram at the age of 50. I was devastated when told

Help with Graves in remission and CT scan with iodinated contrast dye for breast cancer treatment. Can I take Carbimazole to prevent Graves.
Hi everyone. I have Graves’ disease since July 2014 but now in full antibody remission since November following treatment with Carbimazole, selenium, Vit D and gut health diet. I have now been diagnosed with DCIS on a large Area 10x3cm and it is high grade/aggressive. I have been told I need a mastectomy

Bilateral mastoplexy
Hi there all you wonderful ladies (and some gents) Not posted for what seams like forever, but never a day goes by without me checking in and reading posts. Anyway, on Thursday, my birthday, I underwent an operation in preparation for a double mastectomy later this year. This is purely preventative

My Mastectomy Tattoos
Hi- Am getting chest tattoo w/ birds, butterflies, flowers. (My implants were removed, so I'm living flat now.) I want to add a saying as well. Which of these sound better? Thanks for your input! "My breasts do not define me as a woman." Or "My beauty is not defined by my breasts." -Seena

First Anniversary of diagnosis disappointment.
My GP refereed me to the hospital breast clinic in December 2016, after the routine mammogram, blood test, ultrasound and 3 biopsies were performed, I was given the great news just before Christmas 2016 that it was not cancer, but probably lymphedema or an infection of the breast. I was give an appointment

So upset
I was diagnosed in April 2017 with stage iv stomach cancer at the junction of Oesophagus. The cancer had spread to the peritoneum and I was offered palliative EOX chemo. I responded very well to the chemotherapy and was subsequently offered surgery (total gastrectomy, part removal of oesophagus and removal

Failed vasectomy reversal
Hi, a couple of weeks ago got the devastating news that my partners reversal had failed. Only a couple of sperm in the sample so treated as a failure. He has two children from a previous relationship, from what I've been reading this seems to mean getting any icsi ivf funding on the nhs would be impossible

Tamoxifen - side effects
Hello, my name is Nancy. I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer 2.5 years ago for Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, Stage 1b with 2 tumors. I underwent a mastectomy on the right side (really wanted a total, but my surgeon refused). I am 63 and definately post-menopausal. They prescribed Tamoxifen as I could

Non-cyclical Breast Pain/ Mastalgia & Hypothyroidism: supplementing with Iodine, Progesterone, etc.
I’ve had a search through this forum and found a few posts regarding links between breast and thyroid issues. I take 75mcg T3 and 75mcg T4. You may remember my last blood tests (posted here late last year) which made my GP cross, as they showed I’d gone and self-medicated with T3 - despite him saying

Vulvar cancer
Today I got the results of my biopsy which says I have the condition vulvar cancer. I thought the itching and soreness was from changing my pads to another brand. So this and endometriosis!! Christ what is going on! Right now I've questions and I want answers but my Gynae are not very helpful. Should

Lymphedema after bladder removal - need ideas for more effective removal of fluid
I'm new here and interested in learning more about lymphedema therapy. Had bladder cancer, so a radical cystectomy early November 2017 and 28 lymphnodes removed from abdomen. Both legs are getting large and heavy with fluid as is pubic area and abdomen. A certified lymphedema therapist is working with

My answer to Mastectomy
I was self conscious immediately after my Mastectomy but as I got used to it I noticed, in the pool, no one even noticed it. The biggest hurdle was Tamoxofin and its side effects. It did put me in touch with my feminine side.
