Finished with all surgeries, finally!!!
I was diagnosed with stage 2 infiltrating ductile carcinoma in September 2012 just a few weeks before my wedding. I was encouraged to go ahead with the wedding and the honey moon, so we shared vows on 10/15/2012 and I had my first lumpectomy on 10/25/11. I was advised to take an aggressive approach

Hi. My name is Dena. I have PBC.
I took this photo this morning after breakfast of my skin on my arms and hands. I also have these bruised and torn skin areas on my face, neck, and chest. I've mentioned before about having extreme itching and this is what I get when I scratch. I try to keep my fingernails cut short so I don't rip or

Anastrozole
I’ve recently been diagnosed with lobular carcinoma and am having a double mastectomy on Thursday. Last week was my first visit with an Oncologist. I started taking anastrozole on Wednesday. Today I feel like I’m coming down with a cold. Is this a side effect from the medication? I don’t want the surgery

F.D.A. Approves First Home Testing for 3 Breast Cancer Mutations, With Caveats
Interesting news: The FDA has approved 23andMe, a genetic testing service, to offer genetic testing for BRCA mutations associated with breast cancer in Ashkenazi Jews. However, there are some concerns- this service will only test for 3 possible mutations, but there are at least 1,000 more that won't

Newbie needing help
Hi Im new on here and was diagnosed as underactive approximately 8 years ago after having to change doctors to make anyone listen. During that time i went up four dress sizes and got really ill. Over a number of years my dose has been increased to 200 mcg of levothyroxine. This stopped me putting on

Eczema around wound site
Hi everyone, I had a single mastectomy and simultaneous reconstruction in September last year. My reconstruction was carried out using muscle and skin from my back, which was brought round to the front. The breast skin was cut into an ellipse shape and the back muscle and skin put underneath and skin

New here - found out today I have to have salpingo-oophorectomy :/
Hello <tentative wave> My name is Joh and I am 45 years old. When I was 19, I was rushed to hospital with suspected appendicitis but it turned out to be an issue with large cysts on my ovaries and I had a number of ovarian cystectomies /operative laparoscapies over the following couple of years. In

Feeling totally confused
I wonder if anyone could offer any advice? I’ve always had pretty heavy periods but they were fairly regular. I have an almost 10 year old but came off the pill 7 years ago to ttc number 2 - never had any success but was diagnosed with “unexplained secondary infertility”. Fast forward to last summer

First time posting...
Ok, so a bit about me...I was diagnosed with Endo almost 2 years ago now. It was kinda lucky. I'd had the usual chronic pain in the first couple of days of my period for about 1.5-2yrs and just assumed it was a natural thing with my periods (they'd previously been fine, bit of discomfort but not what

Blood in mouth
Hi, hubby is 18 months post total gastrectomy and 12 months post ECX chemo after the operation. In the last few weeks/months he has ocassionally woken to find a small quantity of blood on his pillow or shirt if he has fallen asleep in the chair. Unfortunately I haven’t been there when this has happened

Lymphodena / MLD / Factor V Leiden
Wondered if anyone knows if MLD is ok with Factor V, I recently had four sessions five months after mastectomy - I have arm and trunk swellings but ankle and leg have now swollen as well after the MLD and I had 10 days of extreme pain under scar which is thankfully subsiding. I did wonder if practitioner

Hi guys! I had an MRI on 14th Feb for my sciatica and at the same time they noticed a 5cm cyst and possible endometriosis so got referred to a specialist the week after.
