Ovarian Cystectomy?
Hi, I went to the hospital yesterday and I'm being booked in for another laparoscopy and a double Ovarian cystectomy. They are likely to take one or both ovaries entirely due to large dermoid cysts/benign tumours in both ovaries . Does anyone have any advice? Has anyone had this surgery? I feel really

Mastectomy questions
I am having a mastectomy in another 10 days on one side. with no reconstruction. Previously I had had a lumpectony, chemo and radiation 4 yrs ago, I'm just wondering how long the recovery period usually is and can you wear pullover shirts or do you need button down ones? Have people been restricted

First off, thanks to all the amazing women in this community. I have learned so much about the disease and the amazing stories of courage and perseverance. Very inspiring. This is my first post, I apologize in advance if I ramble. It is my 84 year old father dealing with MBC and I am along for the ride

Medicinal experiences
Hi all Following all the recent conversations about various meds people are being prescribed I thought I would add my experiences to the mix. Might be helpful. I was diagnosed with osteopenia several years ago and put on bisphosphonates. These eventually caused a hiatus hernia so I stopped taking them

Evista to prevent recurrence of IDC?
I am 4 months after bilateral mastectomy for invasive ductal carcinoma (IDC). Have had 25 radiation treatments. Now considering Letrozole vs Tamoxifen vs Evista. Don't like the side effects of Letrozole or Tamoxifen. I favor Evista due to recent diagnosis of osteopenia. Has anyone else had experience

Vasectomy and ICSI
Morning ladies I'm looking for any personal experiences of vasectomy and ICSI. My current partner had a vasectomy over 10 years ago in his previous marriage. We've used donor sperm for the last few rounds of IVF - initially because I started IVF as a single woman after my marriage collapsed because

PARP inhibitors
Dear Friends, I was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2004. I am brca1 positive. Initially I had double mastectomy and did well until 2016 when I had metastasis to axillilary lymph nodes and left lung. Had full course of ACT, radiation and more lymph node dissection. Have been on xeloda, capacetabine

Help convincing surgeon
When I was officially diagnosed in sept 2019 with breast cancer ER negative HER2 positive and positive nodes. I had 4 months neojuvent chemo then due to lockdown had left breast and lymph nodes removed. This followed by a further 10 months of chemo and 20 sessions of radiotherapy. I know they removed

Recently diagnosed with high grade DCIS in right breast. Yet to receive results rom second biopsy so don't know how widespread it is. Is there anything you wishyou'd known when deciding on lumpectomy v's mastectomy?

Is a block semen tube a risk?
I've had a TURP and a following stricture Op as a result. Now my flow is good. But some time after the stricture Op I started getting painful ejaculations (not I have had a vasectomy 40 yrs ago). Now there is no discharge of semen at all and even though I have or had reverse ejaculation it now does not

Who else was shocked!!
I'm new here but thought I would add me current experience with MBC. I was diagnosed with BC back in 2014, had a mastectomy and only had to take Letrozole for 5 years. I thought it was a fluke and thought nothing more about it. Well, low and behold it is back!! I thought I had pulled a muscle from

Rash
My hand started to ache one evening then the next evening I found a rash on my arm which has secondary lymphoedema I immediately thought cellulitis and started antibiotics, but I never had fever or went downhill as on other occasions. My question is, is this grumbling cellulitis?Or no infection and just

Advice needed
My Aunt had a mastectomy 4 years ago, she recently developed horrible weeping areas on the scar & a rash. The oncologist says it’s breast cancer cells but not melanoma. She has been having hormone injections for it but the area is spreading. Has anyone else experienced this & if so what was the best

Triple negative breast cancer with bone only mets
Anyone else out there with TNBC and oligometastatic bone Mets? What treatment did you get? I had 3 x stereotactic radiation and now nothing. Doctor says I have no “measurable disease “ so not eligible for any trials. Originally had 4 x TC chemo + double mastectomy and then 6 x gemcitabine + carboplatin

Lymphodoema in torso
Appear to have lymphodoema in my torso following diep flap & mastectomy surgery three years ago (as well as mildly in my arm). To have it in your torso (above bikini line) seems very unusual, does anyone else have this?
