Hi all Following all the recent conversations about various meds people are being prescribed I thought I would add my experiences to the mix. Might be helpful. I was diagnosed with osteopenia several years ago and put on bisphosphonates. These eventually caused a hiatus hernia so I stopped taking them. Meanwhile developed breast cancer. Have been taking preventative medication post mastectomy and chemo for 5+ years. The side effects of this are osteoporosis and raised cholesterol so have had Zolondronic acid infusions (very effective ) and take 10 mg of atorvastatin every night. I also take 10 occasionally 20 mg of Omeprazole every day. I was diagnosed with PMR in April and am trying to reduce from 20 mg prednisolone. On 18 this week. So far the combinations are working. I suppose the lesson has been if your body needs help then …..best wishes to all

I have also had BC, Chemo & adjuvant Zolendronic Acid, l am now 6years+ but no other treatment as l was TBNC for which there are no other options but l’m doing well.

You will find lots of help & support on here so please ask any questions you may have. HeronNS has just posted a Video on Osteoporosis, so you might like to look at.

My goodness you have been through it. Sorry I cant offer any advice , other than reduce slow to avoid flare ups, but just wanted to send best wishes
