forgot steroids

Hi is there anyone that could advise me, for the first time in over 2 years I have just taken my night medication and realised I hadn’t taken my steroids this am. I don’t even know how! I felt rough all day and really want to ask if it would be ok just to take a couple tonight and my usual dose in the am? Any advice appreciated. 🙈

As it’s about half your normal dose [looking at last post] that should do… a full dose might affect sleep too much..

…and try not to do it again.. but I think you’d probably realise next time..😊

So I have taken 2mg now. And just do my normal 4.5 in the am? I cannot believe I did it. The weakness today was unbelievable yet I still didn’t realise. My memory is actually worse since I’ve got lower. 🙏

Can't go wrong with a prominent dosette box 👍 Lifesaver....

I open up the daily drawer and put it on the breakfast table. Can't possibly forget it with door open! Plus as Pro says, a phone alarm too.

Always have it next to me. I think I just got distracted, went passed usual time and just didn’t realise until I took my night time medication. I did feel rough and still didn’t realise. Just waiting for today’s to catch up with the 2mg I took last night. First time in 2 years and 3 months! 😬

Don't beat yourself up anymore - it is easy done however careful we are! I put my dose in an egg cup on the breakfast tray and add some supplements. So the pred is at the bottom. I have still forgotten it but not since I exchanged the white egg cup for a stainless steel one so I can see the pred is still there!

Do you have a dosette box? Do you set an alarm on your phone? Both helpful - keep the box somewhere you see it regularly!!!

I'd be lost without my dosset box. Mine has seven separate sections each with five compartments. I fill it every Saturday evening, very carefully. Each evening I remove the next day's section and leave it prominently on the worktop where I can't miss it. The day's section then sits beside my chair or I take it with me if I go out. I find this almost brain fog proof. However I forget sometimes of course but I know if I have and take the missed dose if it's not too late.
