does anyone else now only get a pack with 28 not 30 to cover the 6 tablets for 5 days? pharmacy says 28 is good enough dont need 30.

In my experience, it depends on the pharmacy. I have had both doses and didn't see any difference in effect.

Almost all of my meds come in 28s, but when I’ve been given a course of steroids, or antibiotics, I’ve been given the box of 29 plus however many odd ones to reach the required number

I get 30 pred but an puzzled why ust 5 Doxy in rescue pack,.

That’s not good. If you’re taking 6 a day for 5 days that’s 30 tablets. In my rescue packs there’s always 30, 2 strips of 14 and 2 more tablets in the box=30.

Speak to your gp or nurse.

I always get 40 tablets. 8 tablets a day for 5 days prednisalone.

I get 28, like 2 strips of 14 and 2 more. I would speak to the person who prescribed them, I think the pharmacist shouldn't be altering a prescription.

You're right! Reading the box on my latest prescription, it says take 6 per day, which makes even less sense 😕

Interestingly they are probably breaking the law as the doctor prescribes the dosage and duration = the amount in the box

They are prescribing less and so not fulfilling the prescription or inte ding to provide the ones 'owed'

I've had a pharmacy refuse to provide a different product "because the doctor specified the name" .... 6% saline under the brand mucoclear ... on the prescription as mucoclear 6% .... I said it's just salty water can you not provide a 6% saline for inhalation and I was told no because it wasn't mucoclear which was what was prescribed (the doctor wrote me a prescription for generic 6% saline for inhalation that one time)

What does your prescription say? The usual dose is for 30 pills, 6 per day for 5 days. I have just received mine and the boxes come in packs of 28 pills so maybe your pharmacist didn't want to open another box just for 2 pills?

Personally, if your presciption said 30 which is the norm, I would report your pharmacist to your doctor.

You need to keep fighting your corner. I asked for my 3 times a week antibiotic to be increased from 12 to 13 a month as all my other meds are for 30 days. The answer I got was they would reduce the rest to 28. Obviously changed their minds when they realised my nebuliser meds are in sealed foil packets and they would be unable to take two days out of them.

I have been having steroids for about 3 years. My prescription is usually for 60.

6 a day for 5 days and then a reducing dose 4 tablets for 3 days, 3 tablets for 3 days, 2tablets for 3 days and one tablet for 3 days, Usually get 2 packs o 28.
