Statins???
My rheumatologist has written to me GP suggesting I take
statins
giving no reason for this. Blood pressure is normal never had a problem with it. Colesteral is fine. I'm reluctant to start taking any more meds but GP is pushing me. Any thoughts would be welcome June

statins
. Im about to toss mine . and live as long as i can with high cholesterol. There is no proof of Cholesterol doing anything. And its a billion dollar industry. Really fed up!!

Cholesterol / LDL issues.
She cannot take
statins
, because they crank the pain threshold considerably. She also suffers from cool/cold temperatures that a person without the disease could easily tolerate. Any thoughts out there that may help? Thanks.

Prescribing cascade
The
statins
were responsible for the muscular aches and pains. Their treatment with anti-inflammatories can raise the blood pressure, hence the prescribing of the antihypertensive thiazide diuretic.

Unexpected heart attack Sunday
I did have high cholesterol before, but my doctor said my lifestyle didn’t indicate
statins
. Now of course, I’m beating myself up with a load of “If I’d only... “and “why didn’t I?” thoughts. I’ve joined this forum to get real advice from people who’ve been thru similar.

Blood Test Results - What should I think?
Here they are: Triglycerides @ 3.01 LDL @ 1.1 HDL @ 0.75 Serum Cholesterol @ 3.3 I am wondering if I really need to be on 80mg of
statins
? Can I have roast turkey with all the trimmings or am I looking at a chili non-carne (which is pretty good) for X-Mas lunch! All feedback welcome.

Sneezing
I was also put on a load of medication and now have my 6 a day for heart rate, blood pressure,
statins
etc. Included in this cocktail are Ramipril and Bisoprelol, everyones favourite medication, but does anyone suffer bouts of violent sneezing whilst taking these.

Plaque in the left anterior descending artery
She is currently on 80mg of
statins
to help to ‘coat’ the plaque and prevent it from bursting. The fact that it could ‘burst’ at any moment is the most terrifying part and any help, advice or reassurance would be so very gratefully received. Thank you in advance 🙏🏻

RA, PMR, MS or something else?
My LDL shoots up to 200 every time I stop the
statins
. This, despite having changed my diet, excluding everything that is know to raise cholesterol, veggie, sugarless, with all the nuts, berries etc that one should eat, plus the omega, B12 and calcium supplements.

Anti-cholesterol jab twice a year could herald the end of statins amid hopes treatment will get NHS approval within 18 months
Taking
statins
every day to control cholesterol could soon become a thing of the past and be replaced instead by twice-yearly jabs.

The Drug Blame Game
Statins
and the beta blocker Bisoprolol are the most frequent, where people seem to expect (even want) side effects! Some verge on the bizarre. The next is "I have been prescribed drug Z. Has anybody taken this and what side effects did they have?"

NHS trial of cholesterol lowering jab (Inclisiran)
(
Statins
have multiple functions, for example they seem to suppress inflammation and improve endothelial function as well as reduce LDL-cholesterol. They are also known to bring about a modest beneficial effect. The Inclisiran data therefore cannot be read across to
