Sneezing

3 years ago I was taken into Urgencias (this is Malaga, Spain) with about 10 minutes to go and it was first suspected that I was having a heart attack but in fact I was suffering an arrythmia, with a heart rate of 230 (for 3 hours). I was addmitted, and after 15 days in the cardiac ward of Universidad Hospital, Malaga I was implanted with an Implanted Cardioversion Defibrilator (ICD). I was also put on a load of medication and now have my 6 a day for heart rate, blood pressure, statins etc.

Included in this cocktail are Ramipril and Bisoprelol, everyones favourite medication, but does anyone suffer bouts of violent sneezing whilst taking these.

I'm not talking the odd Atishoo, these are violent window rattling bouts, it scares the life out of the wife and it's a bit uncomfortable. not to say embarasing for me sometimes.

I have the Ramipril cough but apart from that and the sneezing, everything has been fine since the implant, I run two walking groups and apart from the damage done to the old ticker I don't do too bad for a 70 year old.

I take 2.5mg bisoprolol daily and don't have any violent sneezing as a result. Most likely one of your other tablets.

Hi Alan,

I am on bisoprolol and ramipril and I also get sneezing. I would say big sneezes rather than violent, but definitely happening. Sadly, I can’t say which one is the cause.
