Input on Timing of Initial ADT after RP/SRT Failed
After surgery and salvage radiation therapy (SRT) have failed, it appears I'm headed for androgen deprivation therapy. Like many things in the world of prostate cancer, the recommendations as to when to start ADT seem to be all over the place, so I'm seeking any insights folks may have based on your

Seen my GP who says MART therapy is now used & suggested Fobumix inhaler Any thoughts?
Hi I posted last week after my Asthma review with a health care assistant at my GP surgery who basically tried to tell me to use my Fostair as both a preventer & reliever & tried to remove my Salbutamol Inhaler. I have since spoken to a GP who says the nurse is correct & they are using MART Therapy

No Cominarty Vaccine!!
I've had the call for my Spring covid booster, but unfortunately I can't have Spikevax (Moderna) as last time I was given it I spent the next 6mths sorting out a heart arrhythmia that seemed to have been triggered by it. My cardiologist said he'd seen a really significant number of new patients, all

Just want to share that I had the above covid booster on Thursday (2nd May) and it appears to have triggered a lupus flare (in my case, rash, aching joints, splitting headache, extreme fatigue). I normally take prednisolone when I have a flare but feel it would be counter productive to what the vaccination

double standards
why does the medical industry refuse to acknowledge a double standard exists in the treatment of men versus women when it comes to intimate care? The obvious reason is the imbalance in gender representation on the personal care level. The solution that I have experienced is to to lead the unsuspecting

Patient Access app change
I went online yesterday to order my repeat prescription and found that the Patient Access app now wants me to do 2 step verification by installing another app. I don’t want to do this as I have several devices (iPads and iPod) and I don’t use (nor want to) 2 step verification on those. I haven’t got

Steroid injection and surgery
Hi all , I'm just wondering if anyone knows how long you have to wait after steroid injection in the bottom before having gallbladder removal I've been told operation will be in 2 to 3 mths unless a cancellation comes in. But a friend said I'll have to wait 3mths now

daft question, but I'm puzzled!
while I am waiting for my next CT scan next Thursday, and the latest batch of blood test results, can anybody else who has the same 'badly controlled asthma with bronchiectasis on top' tell me if painful and weak thighs and upper arms are part of the symptom bundle, or am I on my own! I haven't changed

Salvage options?
Hello again, I have a few more questions, to help my husband decide between surgery and brachyboost. For context, he is localized Gleason 9. (1) Is the course of salvage radiation after RP typically the same as it would have been if the initial treatment had been radiation therapy? Or would it require

Paul Tube implant for Glaucoma
Hello, I am new here and wonder if anyone else has experience of having this surgery? After many years of using various eye drops and also an unsuccessful SLT on my right eye, my consultant advised me to have this surgery in an attempt to lower my IOP thus preventing even further loss of vision. He chose

Mitral Valve re-repair
In November 2023 I found out I had endocarditis. As a result I had surgery to repair my mitral valve. At the time it was successful and I was recovering well. However, when I had my follow up echo, around 3 months later, I found out the valve was leaking again and I am now waiting for surgery once I

Cyanocobalamin
Hi, I have just been informed by my GP surgery that Cyanocobalamin injections, which I have 4 weekly, have been discontinued in England. I am allergic to hydroxycobalamin so cannot have that. I know Cyanocobalamin is still available in Europe but my GP can only use what is available to them in England

Inflammatory Arthritis with Levothyroxine
Has anyone else had severe pains in their tendons and muscles due to Levothyroxine? 18 years ago I had an ESR blood test at my G.P.'s surgery as I had severe pains on Levothyroxine, this proved I had Inflammatory Arthritis, so I bought Armour Thyroid from the US as the only alternative at that time.

hi all not been on here for same time, I've started my new role at work due to my redeployment because of my AF/heart failure condition. It's been 15 months now still waiting for my operation to replace my aortic and valve. I've seen my cardiac consultant who asked me if I had my operation yet,of course
