How serious is serious
Hi posted a couple of times on this site and had brilliant advice. I am now on the list for a cryoablation at Leicester with a four month wait so potentially November None of the drugs supplied bisoporol sotalol and flecanide appear to have any impact and attacks are every 2/3 days lasting 8 to 12 hours

How I Deal with the Fear of Metastatic Breast Cancer
Hi all, just wanted to share with you a post from Kathy, a SHARE Helpline volunteer, discussing how she deals with fear. I found it interesting that she rehearses what she'll tell herself in the event of bad news. Has anyone else used this rehearsal technique? Did it help? Would love to hear your thoughts

Elevated CA 125, a year after treatments-A cycle?
I too am worried. I have an elevated CA 125 usually 5-7, now 19. I think that 35 figure is more about people who don't have a determined level, based on serial test ratings. I had a CT Scan, but don't know the results yet. I just wonder something...if anyone has 1 reoccurrence and not others. I was

Increased heart rate after AF ablation
Has anyone had a similar experience? Two weeks after my ablation my resting heart rate shot up from 75-80 to 120-130 bpm. After 24 hours it had not gone down, so I saw my GP who ran an ECG and confirmed that my heart rate was high. He suggested that I increase my Sotalol medication from 80mg a day to

Results day not as good as I'd hoped - Low grade serous
Hi all After 24 weeks of weekly taxol 3rd line and feeling really well throughout results day on Monday. Consultant said he was pleased generally with the scan although there are still some small bits left and a few have calcified. My CA125 has come down to 29 from 100 so within the normal range although

Weekly taxol dosage
I've started on the standard single agent weekly taxol chemo. I wanted to know how the dosage differed from my previous carboplatin and taxol regime when I met with the Prof at my last appointment. He explained that it was at the highest 80% (ratio to body weight/height) and he expected this to be

Now have my plan but I'm so scared!
Hi lovely ladies saw the surgeon yesterday and went through what may need to happen and was told I may end up with a stoma and then will need carbo and taxol about 8 weeks after surgery. Date for surgery is 20th July, which I was so disappointed at as I'm really uncomfortable with ascites that seems

Saying hello.
I was diagnosed with AF end of last year, after having to go to A&E (ambulance)with high pulse rate 150 ppm and low blood pressure. I had had several episodes in the year whilst tending my late wife with cancer but none as bad as the last. I take Apixaban 5MG twice a day , Sotalol 80MG twice a day and

Morning all. Hospital appointment last week due to increase in ectopics and AF frequency. I am being kept on Sotalol and told to increase from 40mg twice a day to 80mg in morning and 40mg at night. Have any of you been on thus dosage and did you experience more side effects. So worried about starting

Just a quick check in .....
Having finished 6 months of weekly taxol (third line) on Tuesday my hubby and I and my parents are on a break to Harrogate and the Yorkshire Dales with our dogs here's a quick pic, we went to Ingleton Waterfalls today which is just stunning and did a 5 mile walk. Scan on Monday then dreaded results..

Succumbed to A/C
After putting it off since I was first diagnosed 5 years ago I've finally succumbed to anti coagulation and selected Apixaban. I now await to see how I take to it. I was 65 at the end of last year but have no comorbidities and so score 1 on the CHADvasc2 scale. Previously, the GPs I had seen advised

Sotalol 40 mg
My cardiologist is a very good and caring individual who goes the extra mile for you. I was surprised when he suggested moving away from Bisoporol and Flecanide and suggested Sotalol to combat my AF and Atrial Flutter He explained that there could be side effects and I was started on a low dose (40mgx2
