Stopping amiodarone, phrenic nerve and cryoablation?

Hi, Id posted a few weeks ago about bad side effects I was having on amiodarone and am glad to say my EP stopped it and replaced with sotalol. Really hoping this works as it is my only hope left. My EP was great he clearly explained why he cant do anymore RF ablations and showed me the 3D image of my heart. (Upper right atrium surrounding phrenic nerve to SVC majorly highlighted.) He tentatively approached the option of cryoablation, but it will be a very high risk procedure with strong possibility of causing phrenic nerve palsy and other problems. He would attempt it and pace phrenic nerve but likelihood of having to stop the procedure before treating the arrhythmia because of damage is very high. The issue then would be having to cope with those symptoms as well as symptoms from my arrhythmia. My EP hasnt made these decisions lightly having consulted with other EPs so I know they are trying their best. The odds of success arent great but Im at my last hope and am willing to try everything to get a somewhat normal life back.

Anyone experience anything similar? Advice and experiences about cryoablation welcome! Anyone have phrenic nerve issues or problem area? Sorry for my waffling! Thanks!

Tricky one for you. I had a cryoablation and the phrenic nerve pacing was part of the procedure. I was left with a temporary phrenic nerve issue it soon went away. The pacing keeps checking the viability of the phrenic nerve, so they will know immediately if there is an issue.

LIke you I was changed to Sotalol after side effects with Amariodone and have been much better since with no apparent side effects. Hope this gives you some encouragement.
