Hi there, a little follow up from my last post, si my bloods came back normal and the receptionist said my Dr didn't want any follow up after my us scan so she said it's probably normal , should I book an appointment with the Dr to discuss this? I'm also on Spironolactone tablets for fluid in my stomach

Leave it to me, I got stuck in my compression socks today LOL!!!
What a ridiculous day. Thought maybe some of you could laugh at this too. As you know we do get edema with CKD. My PCP had me start wearing compression socks to help with edema in ankles and feet. I was wearing a pair of my holiday compression socks with candy canes today. I've worn them and washed

Spironolactone
I was recently in hospital in Cyprus with pneumonia. Whilst there it was discovered that I had dangerously low potassium levels. That was dealt with and I lost 6 kgs of fluid in 5 days. On discharge I was told to stop taking Bumetanide, which I had been on for 11 years and go onto Spironolactone. It

Should I ask for spironolactone
I've been on a cocktail of HT meds for decades and my BP is still higher than it should be. I also have trouble with low potassium and a strong family history of stroke and early death. I'm wondering if I should ask my gp to change my meds to spironolactone. Does anyone have any experience of this please

update to severe leg cramps and result of stopping Spironolactone
I was suffering severe and excruciatingly painful full leg cramps in the night - mostly in the left leg but sometimes both legs. I would also sometimes suffer spasms of them during the day. I researched in depth the possible causes, with the obvious ones being not drinking enough fluids throughout the

cramps and other side effects of spironolactone
I had been taking
furosemide
and losartan for a while when I was suddenly prescribed
spironolactone
by a heart nurse without reason, not even a blood test that indicated I needed this. I asked what it was and why I was being prescribed it. The answer was 'its good for the heart.'

Curious
My GP sent me for an ECG 7 years ago. He got the result, showing that I had 3 mildly leaking heart valves and 2 dilated chambers, one mild and one severe. He told me about the third leaking valve, as I already knew about two but did not mention the dilated chambers. Five years later, when I had pain
