Nantes video consultation tomorrow!
Hi, it would be great to hear from anyone who has had a telephone/video consultation with the Nantes team as I have one tomorrow afternoon. I was diagnosed with Pudendal neuralgia in Nantes 19 years ago, after 14 months of severe pain following childbirth. They did Nerve blocks which helped it to settle

Off the AF meds, scared!
Has anybody got a similar experience of coming off the meds so soon, it just seems early days I spoke to my Cardiologist last week, after an ablation in September I was tachycardic and a cardio version was required in December. Sinus rhythm restored and February 7th he took me off both the beta blockers

Rapid heart rate on Ozempic
Has anyone had to go off of Ozempic due to rapid heart rate? I had an ablation a year and a half ago for AFib and now when I started Ozempic after 3 days I woke up with my heart raving at 162 bpm. It felt like AFib anc then after deep breathing it started to go down to 157 then 128 and tachycardic

Constant Back Pain
I had a lumbar fusion of my L4-L5 in May 2021 and a cervical fusion of C5-6-7. I have multiple pain problems and have trouble finding relief that also won’t affect my liver. I found I have a bulging disc in L3-4, an annular tear at L4-5 with Degenerative Disc Disease and foraminal stenosis. I just had

Timing of medication when abroad
In just over a week’s time I shall be going to New Zealand for six weeks and I’m wondering how to manage my medication as the time difference when I’m there is 13 hours. t the moment, I take Bisoprolol in the morning along with Indapamide and Apixaban, and then Losartan and another Apixaban in the evening

Bisoprolol 1.25 dosage. Coming off it?
Bisoprolol? I am on a very low dosage, 1.25 ml., and have been for more than a year. Over past months I have felt incredibly tired (sleeping for too long overnight/having naps during the day) and have been totally lacking in energy with no real interest (I don’t feel depressed) to move myself. On monitoring

APIXABAN
Just got home from the ER. I had a CT scan done of my head and everything was fine so they let me drive home. There is a lot of discussion and worry about "apixaban" and bleeding and other problems. I want to put everyone's fears to rest. Got mad at myself about 3 hours ago and slammed my head against

Can you help with this Kardia ECG strip please? Kardia say it is sinus rhythm but I’m not so sure
Reported by Kardia as sinus rhythm. I wonder if it is slow atrial flutter or heart block. I have had permanent atrial fibrillation for years after ultimately unsuccessful ablations. I only take an anticoagulant but last night I was batting along at 112 per minute during a tense online chess game so

A-fib free since ablation 18 months ago but now suggesting Apixaban
I have found this forum so useful since having my first paroxsymal a-fib occurrence two years ago at age 63. I had several occurrences of a-fib with fast heart rate of 110-150 bpm. Fortunately these all self-corrected to NSR within 1-4 hours. I am fit and not overweight and the a-fib usually happened

Atrial Tachycardia ablation
Has anyone here had an ablation for atrial tachycardia after they’ve had afib ablations? I’m curious to know if that ablation was any different than your afib ablation? I’ve had 3 afib ablations and it seems they’ve resolved the afib and flutter (knock on wood). But they’ve left me with more regular

How can I manage persistent AF
I am in UK and have had paroxysmal AF for a few years and was prescribed Flecainide and Bisoprolol but also had a Pacemaker fitted in July 2020 because of a low resting heart rate (normally 50 but loop recorder showed some drop to mid 30s overnight). Any periods of AF I’ve had up to now have been 5/

Change from Apaxiban to Edoxaban?
Surgery rang this Saturday(!) afternoon. Asked whether I would agree to switch from to Edoxaban. Over 4 years I have not had any side effects from Apixaban nor have tests revealed any problems. Has anyone made this switch? Also, the nurse said the advantage was that I would only take one pill, instead

shoulder pain PMR or costocondritis?
I recently ranted about having to jump the queue to get a suprascapular nerve block (avoiding a 12 month waiting list ) rather than reverse shoulder surgery which is a massive procedure in comparison . I’m scheduled to go on Monday costing £5k so far which is annoying in itself but Crohn’s and reflux

Dental extraction.
My question is regarding dental extraction. At the end of this month, I am due to have four dental extractions: Two stumps (it’s a long story); the root of a crown which came off recently and where there is insufficient root left to re-join the crown; and a leaking abscess which appeared the day before

Pacemaker
I had a pace and ablate July 2021 which has gone well as back to my normal activity prior to being diagnosed with AF. However, the last six weeks has seen my arm and left hand swell with veins becoming pronounced by the pacemaker. Following tests, CT scan and Ultra scan, the first view was an ' apparent

Left Atrial Shunt
I have had AF for 9 years. I currently take Bisoprolol and Apixaban. I have had two ablations, neither of which stopped the AF. However the second ablation in 2019 left an Atrial septum defect I.e. a hole between the two atria which apparently causes a left atrial shunt. The arrhythmia nurse who I saw
