Un-diagonosed Sleep Apnea
A few months ago I posted a question about high blood pressure at night and getting up 4 or 5 times a night for the toilet. I have had PAF for 7 years and was changed to Sotalol following a couple of Cardioversions three years ago. I went to my doctors about 2 years ago concerned with my night time toilet

I am new to this site, and aFIb...first episode a year and a half ago and then 3 months ago. For this episode, my Dr. decided to drug me up. First with the demon drug, Sotalol, and Eliquis..I was off to England in a few weeks, so I think he wanted me to not have an episode in the hills of Shropshire!

Sotalol
I have just been prescribed Sotalol (2x 40mg per day- a low dose) for newly diagnosed paroxysmal atrial fibrillation. Does anyone know if this medicine is likely to cause weight gain? Also, I sometimes feel that my concentration and memory are slightly impaired (Eg I inadvertently put some groceries

Apixaban / Sotalol / Bendroflumethiazie
I have been taking Apixaban for just over a year, along with Sotalol. Plus, I have been taking Bendroflumethiazide for years. My question is, should I be asking the doctor to carry out tests to ensure the Apixaban and Sotalol are required/at the correct dose? Does anyone-elses's doctor test.

Another step forward with solid EP visit
Good visit with EP today. A little more than 3 months since ablation. My EKG was great. I can stop Eliquis, imdur and reduce my Lipitor from 80 to 20 mg. Staying on sotalol for at least another 3 months, in part because I have been getting some short episodes of palptitations with activity since the

Imbruvica and Heart Issues
I have been taking Imbruvica for five months and my blood counts, while not good, have remained staple. I had Afib prior to starting Imbruvica but it has worsen over the last month, causing 4 shocks from my Defibrillator/Pacemaker in a two week period. As a result, my Oncologist wants to take me off

Daily meds vs PIP meds
Will try and make long story short: 21/2 yr of PAF, started with sotalol, cardiologist wouldnt hear my complaints so after 4 mo saw EP, who happily put me on flecainite/ metoprolol/ xarelto as needed. Only 4-5 episodes in 21/2 yr, no ER or hospitals needed, meds converted me at home.( plus life style

Coming off Sotalol
Hi, I haven't posted here for a while but drop in from time to time to read posts. I had an ablation in July of last year followed by a cardioversion and was put on Sotalol. Everything has been fine generally and I have remained in NSR. I saw my EP last month and we discussed coming of Sotalol ( good

Newbie looking to get my life back
Hi all, I have been reading a lot of your posts looking for a way out of this mess. I went to the ER back in January when I felt my heart flopping around like a fish, couldn’t even count my pulse on my wrist! I was told I was having a SVT. The ER doctor had me do what I call a “party trick” where he

11 weeks post ablation. Still have chest pain.
I am 11 weeks past ablation and just came back from my 4th visit to ER for chest pain. This time they finally game me cardiac cath and I passed with no significant blockages. My ultrasound shows 70 percent heart function. I am in sinus rhythm and my post ablation palpitations have stopped. But no one

Definitive Diagnosis
Next Tuesday I'm getting wired up for a week so my cardiologists can get a fuller picture of what's going on. Originally diagnosed with SVT and then Multifocal Atrial Tachycardia after the second failed ablation, I ended up in hospital 6 weeks ago with Atrial Flutter which required an electric cardioversion

Stopping Sotalol
I took one half pill last night and another half pill this morning. Is it safe to stop taking it altogether, i.e., now?

Atrial Flutter and Shingles
Two years ago, after ankle reconstruction surgery, I was diagnosed with SVT. After two unsuccessful ablations (and Verapamil and Flecainide) my specialist said that I have Multifocal Atrial Tachycardia (MAT) and put me on Sotalol (40mg twice a day). That mostly kept things under control and if I had
